From a consumer viewpoint, cameras can definitely outperform Ultrasonic, Only plus of ultrasonic, is almost no software needed to interpret. I'm not as convinced that image post processing can match radar, but trust Tesla.
Sorry, but IMO no way cameras are better than USS and radar. They have had 2 years to make cameras work and the car still cant auto park or summon. The cameras can only see what they can see. And with cars lacking cameras below the front bumper, the car do a horrible job of sensing curbs and stuff in your garage.

Removing USS was a cost and supply chain issue that Elon is going to take to his grave. My 2024 Highlander has AP, auto park and does an amazing job with sensing distances in tight spaces. My 22 M3P does a horrible job in tight parking spots and garages. We dont trust it at all anymore. One day, just like radar, USS is coming back.

I had checked inventory of Plaids and 3Ps before doing the test drives and the only 3Ps in local inventory were white or red. Both are tri-coats which would be my last choices. But a Silver (I'd call it charcoal) arrived while I was doing the test drives. Not a lot of choices even custom ordering. Just 4 exterior colors, 2 interiors and do you want Enhance autopilot. Probably would have preferred the Blue paint but even it is a darker blue than I prefer. Definitely would have gone with white if they had not switched that to a tri-coat.
Are you using Tesla info? You can see cars in transit also with TI

Wasn't aware of that but there are no Blue ones in Arizona at the moment. Curiously, they don't have a filter for NM; maybe no presence in that state. Blue ones in CA, but no better discounts there and not worth the registration hassles of out of state, nor would I want the first drive to be a long road trip. Or get there and not like the panel fit or something else. Have heard getting things fixed before the final signature is easier/quicker than getting into the service Q after sale.

I realize the cameras are a hardware cost saving and that's what drove it. But still think AI could eventually do more with camera input than dumb ultrasonic. I don't have a feel for if camera AI can be better than dumb radar. And of course both are just gut feel. I don't think Cameras will initially be better than Radar/Ultrsound.

I can't warm up at all to Teslas round-sucked exterior design and the cruel HMI, reduced to a tablet.
I would have to fight vomiting every time I entered the garage, and would need a hammer in the vehicle to keep the tablet in shape.

🤷‍♂️ 😜
I love the 3 and S exterior. Tastes vary. I preordered the original Taurus (actually the Sable wagon). Gonna bet you hated those too.

The less touchscreen is used the better. I pretty much never use the touchscreen in the Mustang or other cars I have/had. I use voice commands for everything possible. Much touchscreen input will be set and forget.

The fact that the 3 has stalks for a lot of functions was a big plus over the S, at least for me.

I'll probably buy an aftermarket driver side display mostly for a speedometer. Depends if I am bothered having to glance sideways to see the speed on the top left of the main screen.

I love the minimalist interior. I also love completely different interiors of other cars I own or have owned. Like clothes, variety is nice as long as tasteful. I like the Tesla and Mustang interior about the same despite being night and day.

The absence of visible vents is very nice. Don't mind aiming the flow out of the vent strip by dragging images of air flow around on the touchscreen. But will probably only do once. I don't recall re-aiming vents in the Mustang or other recent cars after the drive home. Nice to not have to look at them.
