I’m posting again because I needed eyes on this. So you guys know I was looking at a Laguna Seca or just a regular Boss 302. Look at the pictures of this Laguna Seca. I believe this car was raced. The front bumper has a hole in it. There are no knockouts on that front bumper, and then racing seatbelts and frames? And the K&N filter, which isn’t a big deal but still a mod for racing. And I posted some pictures of the underneath just if any guys got some good eyes what do you think?

The underside shows nothing more but “stock” and that is what an LS looks like from underneath. It will have the black transmission piece that diverts air upward to cool the trans (only came on the LS), it will have the front brake ductwork coming in off the bumper cover and into the front brake shields. The “dent” seen on the resonator is 100% normal and every single 2012-2013 B302 has that “dent”.

It also still retains the now rare and hard to find B302 side exiting exhaust (present on all 2012-2013 B302’s).

The additional red harness seatbelts - eh, if you’re going to track the car it should have seatbelts that are necessary for auto cross/road racing - and some tracks might require more safety gear as well. These cars were not designed for straight line use…. They were designed for road racing/auto cross events and many owners took them to the larger well known tracks across the region.

I don’t see any interior shots - but if the cross bar for the seat belts is there more than likely someone installed a partial looped roll bar too for that extra bar to connect onto. The LS did not have a roll bar or cage in it, it only had the deleted rear seat and the “Mustang X” rear shock tower cross bar that was visible from the rear seating area. Aside from the factory Recaros, the only other interior option would have been the Ford Racing (3) pod upper dash gauge set which was mounted to the top of the dash pad, center.

I’m not seeing any issues with the car really. Post more interior images.

The engine bay is stock except for the cold air intake tube, open air element and the L and R oil separators. I don’t see the Ford Racing decal that would show the Track Key tune was loaded or maybe the owner didn’t apply it. Usually it would be stuck to the L or R top strut tower OR sometimes to the top of the strut bar. In rare instances it was stuck to the driver side B-pillar.

It has the B302 car cover - does it have the complete B302 LS Owners Kit and original B302 Owners Manual set? If not, that’s a dent to the asking price, becuse it’s next to impossible now to find a complete Owner’s kit. Expect to pay upwards of $300+ for a kit if you find one, but it won’t be THE one that came with the car when new because the Ford Build Certificate won’t match. Also if you find a complete B302 Owners Manual set, that’s another $150-$200 now on the open market.

What’s the ask on the car? Does the owner have any maintenance logs or if tracked any track history?

As for the hole in the passenger side front bumper cover - most likely a tow hook was installed in that location. Again if the car was taken to some tracks, some will require an added front or rear tow hook in the event IF the car needs to be removed from the track for XYZ reasons.

IIRC, Ford Racing offered a tow hook kit and also a trailer tie down kit. Plus there’s many aftermarket places that offer tow hook kits too.

Yes it sucks someone drilled the front cover, BUT the front bumper cover wasn’t B302 specific. You could easily find a good used cover and have a body shop paint to match and swap it out (keeping the original cover).

so the usual knockout for the tow did not come with this model? I tried to look on every video and could not see a knockout panel. It was a clean bumper. And he also replaced the front red grill housing.

None of the B302 Base or LS in 2012 or 2013 had any bumper cover knockout windows for tow hook provisions.

If the owner wanted a tow hook, the bumper cover would need to be breached.

The only other way to install a tow hook is if the owner got creative and mounted a hook in a location at the front where the bumper cover was not breached. This would have been normally below the front bumper cover license plate area where the lower grille section is seen. To do it right, the bumper cover would be removed and a steel plate mount would have to be secured to the steel crash bar that is hidden by the bumper cover. Then the hook would get secured to the mount so that the hook comes out past the bumper ledge to avoid any damages when towed (if towed from a track).

Sounds like the car moved due to maybe owner relocating jobs or if in the Military and having to relocate. Maybe owner had a home in FL and NM and brought the car to each place… who knows…. I wouldn’t let that be a deciding factor, people move, cars get sold/traded a lot especially niche cars like a B302 LS.

Dry rotted tires is normal for a car that is now 14 years old especially if the car hasn’t been driven. If this is a car you’re thinking of buying, and if the tires are the original factory tires, save them and get new tires to drive on.

I’m pretty sure this is the one you’re looking at? Took me a while to find it because I clearly remember the unique front grille.

It’s the only silver LS I have ever seen with the red inserts in the upper grille light recesses, same black upper grille, lower splitter, and the front tow hook is in the same spot.

It should also have a rear tow hook on passenger side and the Mecum images show the same seatbelts in the car as well as the same aftermarket CAI setup under the hood.
