Went with Bobs Ultimate. Almost plug and play. Had to heat sink the original intake and valve cover fittings onto the hoses but that was very easy. Looks awesome and professional under the hood with the red/blue AN fittings and braided hoses.

The system to have in place is the Bob's unit or the New Line of UPR Single and Dual Valve cans. But to compare or mention the JLT in the same breath is as the Bob's or new UPR systems is a sin since the JLT has been proven time after time to be a pull through oil separator. That is the reason the JLT has such a a small capacity and never over flows.

All the top performing catch cans do not have a side by side in and out as we learned with our original designs before we designed the internal diffusers and the 4 stage split chamber systems. A catch can cannot coalesce whatsoever if it has a side by side inlet and outlet.

MAK sells our new systems and they have seen the leaps and bounds we have made with the new internal designs. A properly functioning catch can would need to be over a 3oz. capacity to not overfill and siphon oil out the exit / clean side of the can.

The side by side pull through designs have been proven to be less than 50% efficient at best even though they look cool and connect easy. I know some may take this as stirring the pot, but we will be conducting a series of tests with many brands of catch can to show how they really perform.

The real test is not what's in the can it's what still escapes the can and that can be seen by adding a simple oil separator like the air compressor type Steed sells for 79.99 that can be bought on ebay or at homedepot and installed after the JLT unit to show you how much really blows right through.

Check the exit / clean side that comes from the can and goes to the intake manifold and you will see oil reinforcing the name blow through.

A test like this exposes the truth and that it's all about the sales and not giving you the best protection. I put this out there so enthusiast can do the testing on their own and not be biased by another manufacturer. So buy a Bob's unit since that was the question posed and I won'y push or say buy ours as it was not part of the post.

Thank you, Joe

OP, in my personal experience with my 850HP 2004 Cobra, which I must add....had over 100K miles on the stock engine, and our 2011 GT here at BMR, the JLT has worked very well.

We just tore apart our engine in our 2011 GT, to build it better, and I noticed no trace of excessive oil vapors, or residue. We run a TVs Supercharger on 11 psi on this car. With the JLT in place, the car has over 300 track passes, and 20K miles.

After seeing these results, one of the first mods that I performed to my 2015 after the VMP TVS Install, was....yes, a JLT Oil Separator.

I am a big fan of the way this JLT piece mounts on my particular combo. It looks like it was meant to be there. This also came with a check valve, which was very easy to put in line during the install.

On that note, I use these JLT pieces on all of my personal cars, and we use them on all of our shop cars. We do not get them for free, we pay for them, gladly. My decision is simply based on my results with them, and my satisfaction with the quality and packaging.

I am pretty confident that the others mentioned in this thread, do an excellent job at what they are designed to do - but I wanted to give you some feedback from a suspension only company, and personal enthusiast perspective; with no ties to anything other than suspension for your S550.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the brands listed in this thread, and others out there that have proven to work over the years.

Good luck with your choice!

Just a quick update for you as some PCV systems work better than others and ring seal etc. But after looking at the picture of the JLT mounted on your car it's only protecting the top half of the sysetm and exposing the rear line. The JLT mounts on a T right at the back of the valve cover and it only protects the up line and not the line going to the back of the blower.

You should really look into a Bob's or ask JLT to install the system correctly and have the can go between the valve cover / dirty side to the feed the T not just split the T at the Top and let the bottom stay wide open.

BTW, VMP rocks and I love his setups.

I'm glad you have had good luck though.

Bob's systems is $199.99 with anodized fittings or the UPR Plug n Play SC Catch Can with quick disconnect mount and Plug n Play fittings all the way around with Goodyear black braided hoses and Black Billet Hose ends is $149.99 for the top end system that mounts is literally 30 seconds and can outperform every single unit on the market without question.

It also has almost twice the capacity of the JLT and a hair more than the Bob's.

Here's a video on youtube that really displays the quality and features that set it apart and a internal build picture to see how far we have taken oil separation and maximize oil coalescing properties.

I really like this..how would you say this compares to bobs? I'm solely asking this based on the many people who run bobs separators and claiming how good they are at stopping oil but I love the plug and play and design of the UPR it looks like it works but how well does it?

I can say without throwing stones it performs better because of the complex internal multi-stage design and also it has proven to be one of our biggest sellers as we have already sold 700+ units since we released it a few months ago.

Everyone loves it because of how good it controls oil and how simple it can be taken apart and serviced. Yes we did test it against all the other systems to come to this conclusion.
