Hi guys,

I'm after a pair of black vinyl stripes with a red pinstripe on the outer edge.

I found a set on eBay but i suspect they're poor quality.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302734161402?ul_noapp=true

The seller said the material is KK Crown Vinyl. I've never heard of it, but then i'm not a vinyl expert.

They said typically it should last 2-5 years. This sounds disappointing... is this standard or indicative of how poor they are?

Aaanyway... assuming these are crap can anyone point me to where to find proper quality ones?

Thanks
Chris.

Check out Jason Shepard with The Anchor Room. He ships worldwide and uses nothing but the Best Vinyl. You may need to Message him directly on FB or call his shop for those specific stripes since I'm not sure if they are on his site.

He does a lot of our Club cars and is a local friend of the Club.

5-7years is pretty standard with vinyl applications.

as you're staffordshire way, phone wrapstarz pro, tell him you know steve with the red mustang he'll hook you up; any stripe, any style, any size, any colour, totally your pick how you design them :)

What Steve said! :D
...but really any vehicle wrap company near you should be able to provide exactly what you want - and at a reasonable price - fitted. there are even some that will come to you too ...

DONT however be tempted to buy Ford Mustang OTT faded stripes (from Ford) - they cost a fortune and are apparently a piece of sh1t to fit - I have them on mine but I got them for nothing - gratis)

Yea I had them on mine but got fed up with them after about two months
Didn't like how they faded with just dots and the fact that they ended at bonnet and boot
IMO that is lol
But any local place can do it I had a few extra bits done to mine like the chrome glass sorrounds wrapped gloss black and the mirrors and fuel cap

FWIW I disliked them at first but now I really like the faded stripes, to the point where I'm almost going to buy them! Got some Ford parts vouchers coming to me so that may well be what they go on.

That said. I'm undecided...faded stripes? Solid Stripes? Silver stripes? Wider? Thinner? Too many options, I can't make up my mind :eyebulge:

Anyway, we've hijacked the thread...I had a quote of ÂŁ400-450 for custom stripes - material of my choice, custom cut to fit. I would imagine that anything from around 250-450 would get you decent, long lasting stripes. Just make sure you find a company with a good reputation.

Lol it wasn't the faded that I disliked it was how it was done close up the dots made it look cheep IMO and would have preferred them not to end at bonnet boot

Ah dammit lol

that's the great thing about stripes I guess, so many options & easily replaced if you don't like em!

I saw some thin(ish) gloss black stripes on a white s550 the other day - red pin stripes, red taillights too - looked bloody lovely

always go to your local vinyl or wrapping place they'll do a better job that you would do ordering from the states then paying them to fit them and they'll be considerably cheaper.

mine are matt black with red pinstripe floor to floor at both ends and cost less for them to measure / cut / supply and fit than it would cost just to order and ship a set over here from the states.
