When will the S550 be reveiled?

"Officially" I don't think we will see the Gen 6 Mustang until April 17th 2014...and I believe the July production dates and corresponding Sept/Oct delivery dates as well. Following that line of thought means that if a 50th Ann model is to be released in April, it will have to be a slightly reconfigured 2014. I think part of reason Ford is doing this, is to stay away from the 1964 1/2 thing that they went through with the original Mustang, as well as to fill out and finish out the production run of the 2014.

So Ford wants to "stay away from the 1964 1/2 thing" by creating a 2014 1/2 special edition "thing" that is based on a 2014??

I don't think so.

I'm not sure why people are so quick to believe a rumor based on unamed sources who have heard something from an unnamed salesman.

Look for the unveiling of the 2015 Mustang in April in NY and look for sales to begin immediately after that if not sooner.

Anything past that would be a major failure on Ford's part and I see no real evidence that that is the case.

As I said months ago, there will be a separate event for the S550, apart from the auto shows. Since my info has said it will be before the NAIAS, I will speculate that it could be an online event followed by a physical appearance in Detroit.

Interesting if true. An online reveal would obviously reach the broadest audience possible.

Before NAIAS? That means end of this year? Seems awfully soon with how little we have seen and heard. Maybe the great ruse is that they will spring the car on us in the flesh while we're all waiting for the camo to come off slowly. Wouldn't mind that one bit, Ford

LA has been used for Mustang showings for years now.. if it's before Detroit wouldn't this be the most likely place for it?

Ford doesn't seem to be too keen on the whole online reveals that others like Audi/BMW have used. It would be something different tho.

A few whispers about end of 2013 have been around for some time now. If your info is accurate, this sure would make sense of this:

"We'll see the car in December... it'll be at Detroit"

What's a spy reveal? You mean shed all the camo for spy photographers to capture? Doubt it. If the idea is to reveal it completely, I think all this parading the full camo test cars around has been a charade leading people to believe it's still a while before reveal. If they are going for a full reveal, Ford is going to control how it's done as it's too important to leave it up to spy photogs to take the right pics they want circulating around the web.

If the idea is to tease it before showing it in Detroit, I think they will wait until end of December. No reason to tease it too early and impact 2014 sales more than it already has.

Ford already is controlling the reveal. Considering how close we are until it is believed the car is supposed to be on lots, with no official concept and really very minimal discussion on the car, Ford has a timeline and they are doing everything in their power to stick to it.

No one even seems to know when the 2014 model year will end which would give us clues to as close to a Ford confirmed timeline we could get, or if some 2014.5 something-or-other car is real or not.

Ford must really believe they have something insane to show us with this car.
