If the cars are held after being built, does that mean they just sit on the lot or inside the factory until they ship? Doesn't that take up space?

While discussing the actual location at the assembly plant is out of my scope, Ruby305GT, I know that it depends on where the orders are during the process. Once the vehicles are released from the plant into "Awaiting Shipment," they are waiting for the transportation process to begin. When the vehicles are being held after building, it's because they haven't been released from the plant for different reasons.

Our cars will most likely be riding together. My EDD is Jan 5th as well...I'm in Crete just south of Lincoln.

Let me know, I can track the railcar real-time. probably can tell you even when it will be unloaded off the railcar in Omaha......

If it is gstang, the cars where loaded on to railcars yesterday 12/18/2014. the railcar was pulled from Ford last night at around 2230. The car will be switched into a train that will go from Flat Rock and go to Chicago on the CN RR. Once in Chicago it will switch into a train that will go to Kansas City. Once in Kansas City it will get switched into a train that will go to Omaha. Once it gets on the BNSF i can give you an estimated arrival into Omaha Auto facility. The auto facility is going to take photos of my car in the wheel chocks before they unlock it and drive it off the car. they will also be taking photos as it drives off the rail car.

One other thing, if its snowing or raining when it gets unloaded the auto facility is going to park it in the garage for me LOL!!!!!!!!

For folks awaiting their Mustangs that have EDD in early Jan like myself, 1/12, hate to be the grinch that stole Christmas (but) if it ain`t in Transit and Shipped by this coming Tues, 12/23, the Plant is not moving anything until Mon 1/5/15. Happy Valentines Day!

Mine was built on 11/25 and has an EDD of 1/12, wishful thinking. Looking more like late Jan or early Feb.

Will know once car gets interchange to the BNSF railroad. most likely route is via Kansas City, Kansas. With Christmas Day Thursday its hard to say....

That differs from what Rachel said, Phil, and I am more inclined to go with her assessment. If released by the plant prior to shutdown it may in fact be loaded and transported over the holidays if I read it correctly.
I thought you were ordering another anyway not subject to the lost month?
