Make fun of me if you need, but I just found out that this mod existed about 20 minutes ago.

Any disadvantages to getting these? Will they break something else? Are they dangerous? Anything I need to know before I buy?

These are just what the S550 needs in my opinion.

@carlg Many on the forum use wheel spacers. As long as you install and torque properly they work just fine.

Before and after pics of the spacers on our cars is posted here: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1919642#post1919642

Toward the bottom of the same page there is a comparison video.

Awesome, thanks.

This is like a dream come true. You get the look of staggered wheels, and you don't have to buy new wheels to get it.

Funny, I never knew this existed.

The spec to use safely is 6 mm but I have 8mm or 5/16" on my Coyote Red. 28,000 miles.

I have 25mm spacers on all four corners of my GT/PP with PP wheels. It looks very nice, and the stance is provides is way better than stock.

Are there any actual performance/handling improvements?

small wheels spacers to get clearance or to just add a little bit extra width are fine.

Going with big spacers... like 25mm, adds unwanted unsprung rotational mass.

Its better to find the right wheels with the correct offsets so you don't need spacers.

That said I have used 5mm spacers on all 4 corners in the past just to give a little bit more width all around.

Ok, I'm gonna go with MotoSportTech 23mm in the back. Would the stance appear off/strange/weird if I only put spacers on the rear? I am wanting the back to appear wider. Thanks!

So I just got mine in the mail.

Instructions say to use a torque wrench and install both spacers and wheels at 30 ft/lbs.

Doesn't this seem kind of low??

Quick question about spacers. If the offset is 42 for a 18x10 wheel, I would just need a 3mm spacer to all arond to make a square set up?

I put mine only on the rear. 1" . Looks good. I wouldn't put them on the front, though.

I have an extra set of billet aluminum 1" that I would sell you for $35 including shipping.
If you are interested. They are billet, hub centric made for our Mustangs.

PM me if you are interested.

Looks like no one answered your very important question about torque specs. This video has everything you need to install the spacers:

[ame]

I just watched the part where he mentions torque specs (~3:40m) and he says that the factory lugs take 150ft/lb but the inner lug that comes with the spacer should be anywhere between 120-125ft/lb.

I've had these exact spacers on my GT PP car for the last year and a half and I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I drive the car like I stole it almost every time I drive, too. In other words, you will be fine with these on the car.

Good luck!

Awesome thanks.

Sounds like the instructions for the ones I got are wrong as they say 30. AM is telling everyone on their website to use factory specs also which is 150.

Other interesting thing is using these on the front. The CJ Pony Parts video shows them being installed on the front, but AM does not recommend them at all on the front due to safety reasons.

I run them front and back and I drive my car hard (street/track style).
