Wheel spacer question

Just wanted to thank you again for answering. I got everything on, albeit a bit more bruised/cut up than I was yesterday. The rings went on easy, of course the hardest hub was the first one I tried. I had tried hammering the dust caps flatter to fit before starting the thread and getting spacers, but that obviously wasnt getting anywhere fast as those are some heavy metal.

I got some generic spacers at autozone today on the fly, but they were barely lug centric and moved around on the lugs which worries me a bit about balance so I ordered some hub centric 70.5 bore 3mm spacers. I figured they'd be better being hubcentric than so generic with large bolt holes even if they're cranked on there it can't be perfect to stop wheel vibrations.

If CJPP didn't give me an absolute steal I would've bought them from you. I still dont know how they made money on what they sold the package to me for, at even less for the package then their website offers which was already a good deal, plus the sugar on top of getting $100 of bonus point on their site. It was too hard to pass up at the price.

No worries at all brotha at the end of the day were here to save you money you got a good deal and that's whats important !

I have the premium wheel. I havent take them off yet so I dont know if I need to cut some threat or what not. How much are we talking if you get me a set of 4? I cant really go more than the ebay link I posted.

Any professional opinion on the spacer type above in post #15? Id prefer not to order another set of spacers if the lug centric generics will do ok. If the hubcentric spacers re that much better I'll order a 5mm set (3mm didn't fit, about 1-2mm too narrow for the center cap)

Its ok if they are hubcentric unless thats something you want them to be ni specific brotha. so regular 5x114.3 ( 5x4.5) is fine

Well I meant the ones I have currently on there are generic like this below. It's not hubcentric and juggles on the studs. Was in a pinch installation day and autozone generics.

Versus a hubcentric spacer with specific stud holes. I figure hubcentric with tight hub holes are better?

FYI 3mm arrived today and didn't work for me. I put the 3mm hubcentric perfectly cut stud spacer on then then hubcentric ring and th center cap popped a touch on one side and wouldn't stay in. It was just just too thin of a spacer, had to order 5mm. the dust caps just wont come off to try to hammer flat. Wasn't worth the grief over $20 for a 5mm set.

Ya just letting you know for future Essen orders, maybe there are tolerance differences on the hubs or somewhere there, but 3mm won't fit all apparently.

Good deal then, I didn't know if generic like that cause vibrations since they may not be perfectly centered.

Frankly I'm at a loss here. Got my 5mm hubcentric spacers in and the grease cap is still pushing against the center cap slightly. Doesn't make me comfortable. As you can see in the pic is very slightly pushing on it. The slight gray on the left of the center cap is the side of it popping out a tiny bit

I've seen 3mm which weren't close, 5mm that the grease so is rubbing, and been have 3 sets of spacers now including the 5/16 generic ones a pic a few posts back which make me think is going to give vibrations being loose lug centric

I'm at a loss. I guess back to the 5/16 generics (about 8mm). I did re-seat the hubcentric rings into the wheels and then onto the hub; before I had backed them fully on the hub and then put the wheel on. It seems to look a bit more on the hub now at least.

I even tried to get new shorter grease caps http://www.etrailer.com/Grease-Caps/Fulton/F001606.html and they are just a hair too loose like under .5mm. They would fit perfect otherwise though but I don't have the tools needed to modify them (Or the stock ones)

Brotha love tap the cap in a bit, my guys running the AG 20x10 fitments have done that its not bad to do that just for your sanity so it sits in all the way on the cap.

I tried that but it's really resting on the dust cap tight. If you push on it the other side pops up. It feels like .5mm short

I just went back to the 5/16 (8mm) spacers for now. If I had a press or a better hammer than a rubber mallet in the garage I'd squish the dome of the dust cap and get the 5mm on easy.

I'll prob buy a ball peen and smack it this weekend to get the 5mm on. They fit a little better and feel a bit safer

Sorry for the noob question but can I just get spacers to get the stock wheels more flush until I get new wheels? If so, is there any issues like introducing imbalance or safety? What size spacer would I need for EB PP stock 19x9 wheels? I don't want them flush, just almost if possible. Any advice?

I can tell you that you won't get 9" wheels flush with the fenders without large spacers. My 10" all around are just flush.

The best you are going to do really, without getting spacers with new studs on them are about 1/4"-5/16". After that you have less wheels stud space for the lugnuts and it gets a little sketchy where IMO you should move up to spaces with new studs.

You can get spacers but to get the car flush you need large adapters
