Is there that much quality difference between a $150 rim and a $450 rim?

Looking to upgrade my stocks but would like to keep the cost down.

And for some, yes.
-Quality of the finish(will it start getting paint chips easily)
-Is it cast, flow formed, or forged?(affects strength)
-Is it a replica, with little to no R&D and just a design copy(that keeps costs down)?
-Is it an original design?
-Is it a new company attempting to break into the market?

There's a lot that goes into pricing on wheels. And I've seen some videos posted here, and they can be found on youtube when you research manufacturing processes

Yes........it's a few things for sure:

1. Weight
2. Finish
3. Forged vs. Cast

For me it's only the finish. Weight difference of 3-4 lbs is not important to me. For me it's about the finish and that's what I would pay for.

If you can't tell the difference in finish between a $150 wheel and a $450 wheels finish then don't pay for it.

Go to a wheel place and look at a LOT of ones with different finishes and then you'll decide if it's worth it to you or not.

Forged will get you in to the $1,000 plus per wheel range so I just mentioned it but doesn't sound like it's in your price range.

That's quite a large question to ask, there's a lot of ways that you can answer that but to put it simplistically, yes there will be a difference. Rule of thumb that I've always lived by when modifying a car is that you get what you pay for. If you pay for something cheap, expect a cheap product that wont last very long or potentially give you annoying issues.

I could probably write an entire 5-page essay on the subject and explain in detail but I know nobody wants that. If you have any questions I can help answer, let me know!

It would be a better discussion if you shared with us a few of the wheels you are considering. Some brands have a reputation, and it's not that great.
