I really want this car but I would think Ford would've have fixed this problem. Is this an easy fix? Is it expensive to fix? Would I go to ford about this problem for repair? Or take it to a Shop that works on mustangs? What causes wheel hop? Is it the tires, springs shocks the new IRS?

This is the ONLY video showing it hop like this so something feels off to me. I haven't heard one owner complain of it either. If they dumped the clutch at 4500 then any car will hop.

Most wheel hop comes from poor launching.

lmbo!!! 908ssp. I've read a couple of articles about 2015 mustang wheel hop. I also test drove the car. Experienced a little wheel hop when I shifted into second car when the tires chirped. I wasn't able to slam on the gas from a dead stop or use the launch control

Boostworks reported wheel hop with their Kenne Bell blower install. They fixed it with bushings for the IRS. Wheelhop sucks because it can break things. For the S197s you had to replace the bushings in the control arms or just replace the upper and or lower control arms. Before I did the control arms the car would have wheelhop about 50% of the time. After the lowers went on the wheel hop happened rarely. After the upper went on I never experienced wheelhop ever again whether on street tires or slicks, on the street or on the track.

Im kinda irked by the wheelhop in the S550 myself. I really may hold off until the 2016 MY to see if they change some of my dislikes. Im not ordering until sometime next Spring anyway as I save up for car and mods.

My 2008 had wheel hop...the thing I'm noticing lately is the amount of people that want the Mustang to be Perfect for DD, Perfect at the track, perfect on the strip, perfect in bad weather. Newsflash! For under $40k it has to make sacrifices so they give you a solid platform to tweak to your taste. From the sound of it a simple bushing swap removes any wheel hop.

If you are letting a little whisper here of wheel hop push you to 2016 you weren't serious in the first place.

If you go to your Ford dealer and complain about wheel hope don't be surprised if the void your warranty right there.
That's not how it works actually...

I doubt anything could be as bad as the wheel hop my 2004 has lmao. Go over a bump on the highway around any kind of slight curve and the whole ass end bounces up. Getting aftermarket upper and lower control arms helped a bit, but didn't completely take it away.

I'm sure there are simple things that can be done to eliminate the wheel hop on the 2015...but it shouldn't be a factor in keeping you from buying a new Pony. It's been a Mustang quirk for years. And it sounds like there are simple fixes as mentioned above to smooth it out. I can't wait til my new one gets here!!!

The part where you go over a bump and the suspension unsettles isnt the wheel hop Im talking about. Its when you launch the car hard and straight and the rear suspension hops repeatedly and violently really fast. When it happens you should get outta it. I didnt one time and both wheels lost their balancing weights and the driveshaft came outta balance. On the ride home I thought I broke something in the tranny and or rear.

In this video goto 1:40 and you can see wheelhop. While it doesnt look that bad, while in the car it is extremely violent. In older Stangs the 8.8 rear more than sucked up the abuse. But Im scared for the IRS as it is still new and we will find out its limits, strengths and weakness as time goes on. But even with the 8.8 SRA when it happens let off the gas.

A good set of tires and derlin IRS bushing will fix the hop. I went through it with my 04 cobra and it helped a lot and fixed the slop the rear end had.

Exactly. It must be labeled as abuse. Plus we have a feature such as linelock for a reason and it's use does not void the warranty. Even a run down the drag strip won't void your warranty unless you are in a competition.

Just don't be dumb and do a burn out every day of the week or hit the track (drag or course) every other day/ weekend

I see what you mean... I've felt that before when my traction control skips. Hmmmm

Not my dealer.
My dealer has track days!
My salesbrother has a 08 CJ

Choose your dealer before you give them money.
