Hey guys! About a month and a half ago I replaced my rear passenger wheel bearing with a TIMKEN wheel bearing, since that seemed to be getting good reviews on here. Well, everything was all good and quiet for about another 1200 miles(took a trip), but yesterday I am hearing a slight creak/screeching coming from the wheel. My previous wheel bearing(OEM) was much louder, but the sound that I am hearing is very similar, just more muted. It is coming from the same area I replaced. The sound doesn't happen when driving straight, it'll usually happen when I take a slow turn and the road isn't smooth.
It recently has rained a fair amount and it is cold, I am assuming I may have not greased the shaft/wheel hub enough and water may have gotten in? I put the car up and it seems like the wheel has very slight up down play, but I'm not sure if its something else. Could the wheel bearing have just been a fluke? Or is it worth the effort in taking it apart and re-greasing everything.
