Street slicks might work in that application as the sidewalks tend to be less reinforced to get optimal traction (think wrinkle effect).

however it is also a street use tire. I would suggest getting feedback from dedicated users. If it was for track use I would say no.

please note the difference between Street/strip/track.
Yes i noticed you guys talking about track, but also seems generalized on some comments so I got confused.
Thank you for responding

I have 2018 GT that I'm running 285/35/19 on 19x10 rims squared. Well I want to have wider tires for the rear and I'm not sure whats the widest I can go on a 10inch wheel. The offset is 35
I run MPSC 305/30 19s up front - they look fine and work fine, but I'm pushing it. My next set will be 295/35 19 MPSS

This is the wrong mindset to have. You want a tire that fits. A tire that fits the wheel best will perform the best. Period. Tire compound and construction matters WAY more than how wide the tires is. If you just want to go for looks and you don't care how poorly it performs, then OK.

In addition, different tire brands and different sizes of said all have different specs. It isn't as simple as assuming all 285 tires are equivalent because they aren't. 275/35 or 275/40 within the same manufacturer and tire model will usually have different specs. This will affect how will it fits and performs.

Hi,
I know it's an old thread but hopfully one of y'all respond to this. I'm trying to get Ventura Beadlock S904 street & strip 17x10. Beefcakeracing recommended 305/45R17 tires size Mickey Thompson 90000028441 ET Street S/S. I see you guys talking about 305 in 10" wide is to much. what y'all think?
I was going to go with 18x5 28/R6 18 in the front but I might go with 18x7 245/45/18

any suggestion?

(on 2019 mustang GT)
I expect Beefcake knows what he's talking about. The responses about the 305 being too wide were not in the context of drag racing.
