It's a non swept area, they rust if not coated. Wire brush it and shoot it with clear cerakote, if they make a high temp clear, or any color you like.
2020 GT500's do not have a noticeable unswept brake area like that. I'm pretty sure his car has the wrong pads on it. This is a picture of my rotor when I had it off to swap springs. This was when the car had around 5000 miles. Notice the rotor face pretty much receives full contact from the factory pads.

It actually looks like your car has different brake pads than what comes from the factory. My rotors do not look like that. There's a pad contact issue there, or those are simply not the correct pads for the car. If you got it used, the previous owner may have changed the pads trying to address brake dust. Here's a pic of my front rotor for reference. I can't really tell from your pic, but it seems like your pad isn't the same as this. Notice how my brake pad sticks out from the caliper a good bit? It looks like yours doesn't, and that's why that area of the rotor isn't being contacted.

That would be strange but could make sense. The brakes squeak a bit too.

Might be pad buildup on the rotors. Try doing bedding procedures in the owners manual. See if that cleans it up.

It's called flash rust. Every cast iron rotor does it. If your car is just an ornament buy zinc coated or stainless rotors. You won't stop worth a damn, comparitively, but it'll have the perfect unused toy look.

Take the pads out and check how parallel the faces are on a piece of glass or granite.

This is definitely it. Google "gt500 brakes'" and the pads all look like yours. Gonna go order some OEM pads I guess.
