Sequence numbers started at 300001 for all production model year 2015 Mustangs except the Limited Editions. They are sequenced from 500001 to 501964.

Preproduction units have sequence numbers with 29xxxx.

The digit in the VIN immediately before the sequence number, "5" for the Mustang, means the vehicle was produced at Flat Rock.

Around 30,000 2015 Mustangs have been scheduled so far.

The sequence numbers do not reflect the order the vehicles are built. They are assigned after all orders are pulled for a given scheduling week. That is why you will see the sequence numbers assigned to a specific dealer in a given scheduling week all in order with no gaps.

Your accounting seems to make sense, I also heard that the 1ts digit following the 3 is actually a Lot # and the last 4 digits are your number within that lot. But I have no idea if that is correct. :shrug:

My 2015 Mustang Convertible Base V6 A/T was assigned VIN # 332068. Being that close, hopefully we will have our "Verts" delivered within a few days of each other.
