I ordered a low profile xspec shifter as well as the adapter for stock knob as I was planning on using a Ford performance knob on the xspec. My thinking was the ford performance was a direct replacement for the factory knob so I would need the adapter.
MGW called today to say the adapter doesn’t work on the low profile shifter. Does that mean this knob will not work ? The nice lady from mgw said I’ll need a knob that is threaded all the way through. I am unfamiliar with differences in knobs. The ford performance knob as a nut with it as well.

I am learning things the hard way. I’ve bought lowering springs before wheels and once finding the wheels I want realize I need different springs. Looks like I did it with knob as well possibly 😩

I'm running an MGW X-spec flat stick, which may or may not be threaded the same as yours. I emailed MGW to check on the thread size and pitch, and the lady there responded quickly with the information I needed (3/8-16). My stick has about an inch of threads and I wanted a knob that would screw down with no jam nut or adapter, so it needed at least an inch of threads. I have experience with Flameball knobs from using theirs on a suicide clutch/jockey shifter for one of my motorcycles, so I contacted Gene at Flameball and he made me what I needed. Flameball.com

I think that is same as what I’ll need. She said ā€œfully threaded). Looks like ford performance only has 1/2ā€ of threads. Is know a full ball/circle, not flat on bottom ?
I love the look of the flat stick. Was hoping that’s what I ordered, either way I’ll be happy.

I'd suggest that you contact MGW as soon as you can to verify whether your order is for the flat stick, which also has color choices. You can check the thread specs at the same time.
My knobs are fully round, not flat-bottomed. Flameball has many different designs - solid color, translucent, pearl, multicolor, etc. Gene has a disclaimer on the site that says he's not taking new orders due to health issues. It's been there for almost a year, but he was available last summer when I ordered mine, and we communicated multiple times thru email. Be sure to specify that you need at least 1" of threads; that'll add $10 to the price. (FWIW - Like you, he's in Pennsylvania). Other manufacturers might also be willing to work with you as long as you can tell them exactly what you need.

I have the MGW Race Spec with the standard handle. I have the same Ford knob and would not want it any lower.

I agree. I can’t picture it much lower than this. I’m going to message them and call in morning to see if I can correct my mistake.

I was able to adjust my order to flat stick with solid black mgw knob. Very happy with their level of customer service and the help of forum members. Thank you will post ford performance knob in marketplace!
