So I finally pulled the trigger and got the MGW Race Spec Shifter installed yesterday, wow what an improvement! Even though it's stiff now I really like how precise it is and shifting confidence is very much improved. DynoTuneMP in Hampshire IL did the work for $150 and even let me help which was really cool!
Since I was there and they only charge $80 for for dyno pulls I decided to see what my Steeda Tuned GT would put down. Steeda advertises 422rwhp with the Proflow kit. I only put down 406 which really disappointed me as my car has always felt very strong. I did have my winter tires on which are soft and may of cost a couple HP, we did remove the fuse to disable active control but I forgot to change the drive mode from Normal to Sport+, my question is will this cause rob me of some HP on the Dyno because of the lag it puts on the throttle?

Hello Kris Wells!

Well there are variables.

The weather when Steeda did their testing.
Altitude.
The Dyno you used and they used was different.
Every car reacts a bit differently.
SAE vs STD number rating.

Steeda may have advertised the best out of say 40 pulls they did on VERY nice days with an STD rating, that would lead to it being higher that what you get. You CAN get those numbers.. if the stars align for you too. The dyno at your shop may be more conservative, and the weather not as nice. You may also be at a higher altitude.

Bottom line is never believe advertising numbers. Personally i don't trust mail tunes. I just have a tuner do it in person. Aside from having the "real" numbers, I also know that I'm not driving around on a messed up tune that I am just blindly trusting.

It was DynoJet using STD
But yeah I understand it's more of a tool to see improvement with mods

The Tuner was nice enough to data log and he said the timing and everything looked really good and safe. He said a custom tune would not be worth the $400 he would charge for a couple of HP more.

If that's the case then sounds like it's just a conservative dyno with Meh weather.

What UAmach said. But it looks like ya got a solid tune and that’s great. Plus the real gains to see would be if you did a stock Dyno and then with mods.

Intake, catback and a tune is typically good for about 400 whp on the 15-17. Don't feel disappointed.

Glad you're liking the shifter! Told ya!

Thanks Brian,
You give good advice! Reverse is a bit of a task but I’m sure it will loosen up over time.
