I had a new unopened bottom of Pennzoil Platinum in the trunk of my prior car. It was sealed. When, just driving around it tipped over and the pressure and heat of a Long Island summer day, it popped the cap. Pennzoil does not put a foil cover under the cap so when the cap popped, I had 4.5 of the 5 quarts of oil leak into the trunk of my hatchback. I had to powerwash the rug and discard a bunch. It took a while to remove all the oil that pooled into the wheel well and saturated the press board wheel cover.
Unless you know you have a leak, or drive a GT350 , I would make sure that the oil can never tip over. Do not trust the caps on those containers.
I will say I did complain to Pennzoil and they did throw some money my way to cover the damages. Thank you Pennzoil. Will make me keep using them in the future.
