Trying to figure out what the wire is that runs around the hood vent. It looks like a ground wire, but for what?

It’s a safety retainer in case the hood vent becomes detached and doesn’t fly off and injure someone

Makes sense I guess. Just figured Ford would find a way to build those without the risk of them coming off. After further review, I might need to add new vents to the ever growing list of mods.
