What is this scratching noise?

I've been hearing this terrible scratching noise coming from underneath my car when idling at 650 rpm. If I increase RPM, it goes away. I think it could be from the belt drive but I can't really hear it while under the hood. The sound is amplified when I am next to a wall/building. Ford won't look into it, they blame my axleback exhaust lol

I'm on my 2nd motor and my warranty expires this year. My last oil report came back high in iron, very concerned.

I think I have a similar noise. My guess is it might be a small exhaust leak, but im not too sure. My car runs just fine though.

I’ll definitely want them to get that iron outta there. Start getting your engine replaced again or start a conversation to initiate it. When the engine goes after the warranty, you’re covered because the ticket was submitted before the warranty ended.

Yes someone on facebook suggested it may be a bad cat. I had this issue with one of them already, it burned up my O2 sensor and they replaced it. It didnt make this sound

I have had this exact same sound for over three years. I have never had any cel's or codes. It is very annoying and like you said goes away with the slightest tip in of throttle. Summer time seems to be worse.

I am wondering if its the flex pipe mesh material off the driver side header leaking.
