We would really like to know what the connector is really for. It's amazing that we really don't know. Someone posted the proximity warning, which could be related to the ACC, and that's probably what it is.

Not sure, but I can tell you that if you unplug it, no nannies will intervene while on a dyno.
We have a winner!

I have Premium but without all of the options. I'll keep looking at car shows.
I have Fully Loaded GT California Special with ACC
what do you want me to look for ?

In the recent article Billy Johnson did on the FP Mustang Coyote power packs that was in MotoIQ he mentioned it. Pull the plug out for dyno runs and to turn off nannies, though I am under the impression that it does not disable ABS. That article is posted on this site somewhere.

This is intriguing! I would like to know 4 things, please:

1) how much wire is hidden beneath the body metal at the LHS of the photo? Because the connector is obviously a take-out from a larger, more complex loom (perhaps the 12A581) and therefore originates from a branch that is 3" or 5" or 7" upstream of the connector

2) can you describe in which direction the upstream wire is heading? Does it trace back to a branch that is close to the hood latch? Or lower down? Toward the fans? Or does it double back and the branch is actually closer to the back of the headlight?

3) how many conductors? What color and gauge are they?

4) when you remove the cut-off end and peer into the LH end (the one that disappears beneath the sheet metal) do you see pins? or blades? What orientation? Two (or three) pins in a row? Like the end of a dinner fork? Or a pair of blades - like a tiny version of the plug on your toaster? Or...what?

I have that connector and its not taped up like in the photo. (Premium w/ PP, no ACC)

When I disconnect it Traction and Stability Control are disabled, and the car won't let you reset your Accelerometer in Track Apps (I think it can't tell if the car is still moving). I haven't noticed any adverse affects on ABS.

I could take a picture later.

And...if you can answer any of the other questions I would be keen to hear!

My 15 Base GT PP (Dec 18 2014 assembly) looks like this:

The connector doesn't appear in my 12/31/2014 service manual CD. I will be buying a CD for my 18 when it becomes available and will see what it shows in the wiring section.

Alternately someone can subscribe to online access for 72 hours. Doesn't cost much.
