Sorry ahead of time. I'm sure this question must have been asked before. Several times before. I can't find it in recent history.

What is the difference between the premium interior trim package (68B) and the 400/401a standard leather trim? I'm getting the Performance Pack which overrides the satin brush aluminum dash that comes with the premium trim and color accent package (68B). So, am I really only paying for a darker hue charcoal interior and color accent stitching? I didn't spring for it. I should have since it's cheap ($399), but I'm not changing my order now just to include it.

However, I am very curious what the difference is between the material trim levels. I don't think it's been clear what exactly 68B comes with. It's listed as charcoal black interior, color accented seats, unique door trim, and satin brush aluminum dash panel. Since the standard 400a & 401a premium Mustang already comes with charcoal leather while the LE comes with 'raven black' interior, I'm assuming this means that the premium trim package comes with a darker hue of charcoal, color accent stitching rather than black stitching, and a unique satin brush dash. However, when ordered with PP the PP engine turned aluminum dash overrides the premium trim package's satin brush aluminum dash. So in my case what does that mean? That I would get a darker charcoal interior and accent stitching? What is the unique door trim?

Oh TampaBear, you misunderstood me. The difference between the base 300a GT and the premium 400a GT is HUGE. I did get the premium 400a GT. I'm talking about the "Premium Material and Color Accent Trim." Like the add-on for the leather package.

Wilson, I didn't misunderstand, I answered your original question, which you have now edited, to ask about the difference between the Premium and the Premiere Trim Levels, even though the Title is still asking about the Difference between Standard and Premium GT Trim.

The Difference between the Premium and Premiere Trim is the Quality of the Leather on the Seats. Premium Models get Split Grain Leather in the Basic Sew Style/Pattern while the Premiere Trim gets higher quality Full Grain Leather in a Different Sew Style/Pattern. The Color is the same, it's called Ebony on both Premium and Premiere Trim Levels. According to a Ford Employee even the "Raven" color from the 50th Anniversary Appearance Package is the same color as Ebony. The only other differences between the two trims are the Sew Style/Pattern of the Seats, which have an Additional Panel Sewn Into the Bolsters, and the Perforation Pattern in the Inserts which have the Solid "Straps" in the Perforation. The Door Trim also recieves a "Perforated" look as well on the upper part of the Door Insert. Both the Seats and Door Inserts on the Ebony Premiere Trim are also supposed to have Steel Grey Stitching I believe its called, but it just appears White in all of the pictures. As for the Satin Aluminum Dash trim, that would be the Horizontally Brushed Aluminum Dash Trim which is the same on Both Premium and Premiere Trim Levels, unless the Performance Package is Ordered which Overrides the Satin Aluminum and Receives the Engine Turned Aluminum Dash Trim with the Center Gages.

Also, the Premier Color Accent Package, as 68B is formally known, is the ONLY way to get the Redline interior. In English, that means (apparently Dark) Red seat and door card inserts, and some way-cool red stitching on the console and the seats. TampaBear correctly noted the OP seems to be asking the difference between Premium and Premier CAG, not the difference between Base and Premium.

For a paltry $395 over the Premium it seems a pretty good value if you want black or red seats. If you want Saddle or Ceramic, well, you can save your money and you win, too.

I'm a little confused. I don't think you need the premier trim to get the black (ebony) interior. And there is a red-ish color available in the standard trim, as well.

The Premium trim is available in Ebony (you are correct), Ceramic (really light gray) and Dark Saddle, which is brownish-reddish but not red(line).

Premier, with its improved materials and contrasting stitching, is available in Raven (also black) and Redline.

So, a Premium buyer has the choice of five interiors (eight if you consider the black Recaros as two more possibilities and the Redline recaros as one more beyond that.)
