Well with Ford pushing for EB/GT sales I think the v8 will be around at least through the 7th gen.
And with how much Ford has ignored the v6 for this generation, I think we will no longer see a 6cyl Mustang after 2018. A TTv6 could be possible but it just doesn’t seem like they would want it as part of their lineup when they already have the EB. Kind of sad because the v6 never got any respect even though it’s been in the Mustang family since the beginning.

I just hope they still offer a MT for those years. Hell, even if the price of a 5.0 drops to $20k but no more MT….im out.

I think TN has the honour of being the first person to render the '18MY!

I can't say I like the four-eyed look as much as I thought I would...I was thinking "Fox Body Four Eyes" with the current Fusion refreshed headlights, but that just doesn't look right to me. I was thinking maybe slightly larger diameter DRLs would work.

The GT350-style lower portion of the bumper is pretty cool, especially with foglights and color-matching fangs. That front grille is too trapezoidal for my tastes though. The flatter hood would be great too! If they don't mess with the taillights either, I'd say it's a decent-looking Mustang!

Just my .02, but it's nice to have a speculative render!!

Why do people think a HP bump is just a no brainer possibility? This is a small motor vs the competition and it's almost at the same HP level, naturally aspirated. What makes you think they can just pull another 20-30 out of it? Especially with mpg to consider.

Really this is more of a legitimate question than me just saying people are crazy for thinking it.

Yeah I don't think there will be a HP bump. Probably a cosmetic change, and intro of newer HIPO models. Unless the competition increases the performance of their current models, I don't see a point for Ford to do that.

Those headlights look straight off the Fusion. Hope they do more than that to differentiate. That image looks pretty polished though, really hope that's not the real refresh.

Gah I'd pay good money for a crystal ball to see 6-12 months into the future to know if the 2018 will be worth waiting for. I'm gonna kick myself if I wait a year, don't like the 2018 changes (and/or they don't make a Bullitt) and could have just bought a highly discounted 16 GT. But don't want to buy a 16 and then kick myself if I do love whatever new stuff comes out. Between a rock and a hard place. :headbonk:

I'd bet good money the '18 will be worth waiting for. And, if you decide it wasn't, once you've seen it, there will be discounted '17s to tempt you :)

Very true. I'm sure I'll love the latest and greatest Mustang. Unfortunately 17s are out of the question for me, want the hood vent turn signals and Guard color which were both killed for 17. But, there's always used 16s which is why I think I'll wait. I have faith in Ford haha. :ford:

I'm with you on the headlights. The current ones are different and distinctive enough that you know it's a Mustang; it'd be an unwise decision to give it the same, or even similar headlights as the Fusion in my opinion. I understand that Ford wants to have all of it's vehicle maintain a similar "corporate appearance", but the Mustang should be able to stand alone more than the rest of the lineup!!:ford:

I've been waiting since 2013 to get an S550 EB, and I've especially waited for Grabber Blue to come back. Unless Ford offers something really fraking sweet that can't be had in the aftermarket (new motor, special interior/exterior appearance options, unique performance options, special edition of the anniversary variety), I'm getting a '17 hopefully this summer. I've waited long enough haha! :D

I have to say I like it better than the current front end. We'll have to see what it looks like in real life but as a rendering I think it looks fine.:clap2:

That's weird I didn't realize they were only doing the hood signals for 2016. You can get those aftermarket though

That front end looks like an Infiniti Q50.
