I'm about to buy Eibach front and rear sway bars. I have a non-PP mustang. Do I need to buy End Links or anything else since I don't have stock sway bars and accessories?

I usually recommend people throw adjustable end-links on with stiffer sway bars, for a few reasons.

1: Due to the stiffer rate of the bars, combined with how heavy these cars are, the OE links are very susceptible to bending. As a matter of fact, the stock links have and do bend without aftermarket bars....

2: Preload. Due to all of the manufacturing tolerance stacking (I call it compounding tolerances) - there is a very good chance that you can have excessive preload in the bar. Often times, cars will come from the factory with preload - especially when you have a full tank and are sitting in the car.

I typically suggest setting stiffer bars up in the neutral position with you in the driver seat - which will ensure the bar is not giving you the effects of excessive preload with all of that increased bar rate.

Attached is a pic, thanks to "Tob" who posted these over on svtp.

Thanks for the input. I just want to be clear because you reference OE links. It's my understanding that the non-PP mustangs don't come stock with sway bars so I'm assuming they wouldn't come with sway bar end-links. So does that mean I need to get end links regardless?

The non-PP Mustangs do have sway bars but weaker ones (I have one). I'm running BMR sway bars using stock end links and it's a huge improvement over stock. But something like BMR end links will provide better performance and reliability over the stock end links. The end link deflection effectively reduces my sway bar rates. If I had to do it again, I would have gotten the BMR end links as well. But thus far I've been fine, and no more body roll.

All S550s come with sway bars and end links.

I am on the phone as I type, with a customer who just bent a stock link badly with a 35mm front bar.

Mr BMR Tech sir, what would you recommend from your company, suspension wise, for a v6 daily driver that doesn't hit the track but enjoys spirited driving. My non-pp suspension moves way to much but I don't want to loose to much comfort since I take small road trips. Will a new sway bar be enough? Your help will be much appreciated.

If I had your car?

I would do the following. Maybe not all at once, but this is what I would do based on your post.

Springs:
I would use the BMR Performance Springs, SP080

Shocks/Struts:
I would suggest grabbing some "take off" PP GT struts and shocks at first. Then go from there. You can likely grab them for next to nothing. OR, you could try out the new Steeda Fixed dampers, or wait for the Koni STR.T's which I suspect will be released soon.

Sway Bars:
Again, try and find some PP GT take offs. Cheap, easy to find, and can start from there and see how you like it. Your biggest improvement with these will be the larger rear 22.2mm rear bar and up front, the PP GT uses a more rigid sway bar mounting system to lessen the rate loss of the front bar in torsion.

Bushings, ETC:
I am a believer that every S550, used for any purpose, should remove some of the deflection and rubber in their rear IRS assembly. It just makes it so much better. For this, I recommend (HIGHLY) our CB005 Cradle Bushing lockout kit first and foremost. After that, I would look into the next best thing which is the BK055 Control arm bearing upgrade. Once those are done, you should look into the vertical links (TCA045) and the FRPP Knuckle-Toe Bearing. The vertical link + toe bearing combo will really enhance the performance, by removing the deflection within the knuckle assembly, helping you put those springs, dampers and PP Sway Bar to work without seeing interference with geometry and alignment change.

This is a basic mod list and set-up...that will not break the bank, and should work VERY well for you. Some will say, why waste the time on those PP parts! Well, I think they are better than what people give them credit for, if you want my honest opinion. Do I want to see you end up with the full BMR catalog? Sure! But, at the end of the day, the difference felt in what I listed on your specific car, for the price, is hard to beat.

Enjoy!

This is a very brilliant list. How much difference do you think I would feel if I upgrade gt non-pp sway bars to gt pp sway bars? I already have Eibach pro-kit, Koni and some chassis stiffing. Thanks!
