Does it work pretty well? Is it worthy of the $600 tag and the freat reviews it has received?
Yea, it works well. You have to set your expectations accordingly though. Running it doesn't give you some kind of invisibility cloak :D. It's not going to save you if you speed by a cop who doesn't have his radar on... also not going to save you if a cop is sitting on the highway and intermittently turning on the radar to check the speed of random cars (although, you may pick up a brief warning if they activate the radar in front of you on another car). Also note, it will NOT protect you if the police use laser (lidar). The escort will detect it, but if you get nailed with laser and were speeding, you might as well just pull over and wait for the cop to show up. There's methods to defeat it, but it's also expensive.

Is it worth it? Maybe. If it prevents you from getting just one speeding ticket, I'd say its worth it. If anything it's great at is alerting you of a police presence in an area, and it makes sure you don't do anything stupid.

Also, if you're going to spend that kind of money, get their updated version, the passport 360... it will also alert you in what direction the radar is coming from. They're a bit overpriced, but the passport max radars require very little fiddling with them to get them right. There's other and cheaper options that may be better, but you're kinda paying what I call the "apple tax" with the escort radars: more money for something that works out of the box.

sweet ride. still cant get used to the non black PP wheels though
The silver wheels and Adaptive Cruise pretty much dictated a special order. Dealers rarely order AC with manual trans or the silver wheels (due to the added cost or not even knowing its an option). Throw in the premier interior (Red Line), nav and all the other options and no chance of finding one that way.

Just my preference but I would never drive a car with all black wheels. Even if some look good standing still on some color cars, I gotta have some bright-work for when they're spinning as you drive.

Cool thanks for the info! Where can I buy one of these invisibility cloaks you speak of? I could definitely use one of those! :D

I hear that. I don't really care for the look when the wheel is darker than the tire. Always throws off the look for me.

Looks good. I watched the video and I might do this mod.

Dumb question: does disconnecting the battery require you to have reset any settings? I know the clock would have be reset but what about other stuff? Radio settings, seat and mirror positions, etc.

Thanks.

I disconnected my battery to remove my strut brace for paint the other day. Only thing I had to reset was some sync Bluetooth notification stuff and a couple settings in the cluster for the alarm. (I have enhanced security package) but that's it. Time was even saved.

I can't see any reason to disconnect the battery for the CJ method. Just disable the button by NOT pressing the clutch in a manual trans or the equivalent in an auto (put lever in drive?). Or am I missing something?

I didn't disconnect the battery, just placed the key fob away from the car while I was installing it.
