Scored a black spoilerless trunk lid from Midway Mustang. Can’t imagine what I’d need that for.
Sounds like a "rake hanger" for the garage.

Changed the oil and filter, emptied the passenger catch can (very little oil) and checked the driver's side which is again bone dry looks like new inside! Clearly a waste of money, it was on the car before I bought it!

Today I backed the Shelby into the Garage for the very first time and cleaned out the rear diffuser. Followed the recommendations of a fellow forum member who suggested I remove the back clips/bolts and just vacuum out the inside. The lowering of the back end worked well as the front is on a hinge.
It really wasn't as bad as I expected it to be as far as debris.
I even found some track rubber in there which I keep as souvenir's in a Route 66 cup on a shelf in the garage.

Dash Buzz Rattle 2.1 update. Well, I took the Shelby out on the first drive a couple weeks ago and the front dash buzz rattle was actually worse than before pulling off the dash and adding matting material. The good news was the back rear passenger quarter panel was fixed, but not the front.
Borrowed my 20 year old daughter to sit in the passenger seat and drove back and forth down my street in 1st gear attempting to identify where the buzzing noise was coming from. I pulled the dash panels off just to be sure that was not the source. Finally decided it was near the instrument cluster area.
After numerous test drives and constant pressing and banging on panels I finally identified the front dash panels near the windshield which vent heat and ac.
There was a small panel just below the dash cowel up on top that when I pressed on it I heard a "click" and felt it seat into place. One of the panel clips must have been unseated and just need to be put back in place.
I ran the car with and without the dash panel installed and problem is solved!
Here is a link to a thread that talks about the dash panel area in term of noises.

Also including some pictures of the area in question.
Hope this helps someone else.

A few weeks ago my grand kids discovered the Shelby for the very first time. Since then they have asked to sit in "the race car" every time they come over. My oldest grandson even asked me questions about the shifter lever and the third pedal.
I've heard stories from my adult kids of peers who have have never seen or been in a manual transmission vehicle before.
My grand kids will be fully educated on the wonders of the manual transmission.

Future potential 3rd pedal car enthusiasts... keep up the good work Lorne!

Completed an update (3.4) on the Ford Sync 3 system. They recommend going to the website and downloading the update to a usb flash drive vs attempting to download directly from the wifi in the vehicle.
It took a while for the update to complete and there was no indication on the screen that it was successful. I turn off the car, waiting, turned it back on and the Sync system asked me a series of questions regarding reporting data. I then went into the "About Sync 3" option to confirm the new update was applied.

Installed the DK Garage pull handle for the back trunk. Install was pretty straightforward and a really nifty hack for keeping your hands off the rear spoiler and desk lid when closing the trunk. Only complaint was the strap was too long as it hung over the edge of the trunk threshold and was getting crushed by the trunk lid weather stripping. I removed the unit and punched new holes in the strap approx 1/2 inch on each side of the strap and reattached to the bolts in the trunk lid lock mechanism.
Love that they made them in a variety of colors as well.

Putting in the 500 miles so I can get back to the dealer for the oil consumption test. Hearing a rattle from under the body somewhere, but the car is too damn low to get under it for me to check  Also finding out that the parking brake needs the life nearly pulled out of it to be functional. I know there's a thread somewhere in this sub for that...
I recently adjusted my R's e brake. 10mm wrench on the cable next to the driveshaft. You'll need a lift or some jacks for sure.

Seven years of ownership happened to hit the lock button on the key fob at night with the door open and I just noticed that a little red light comes on on the door where the retractable lock on older cars used to exist! What attention to detail. Car continues to amaze me after 57,000 miles.
