Welcome Kevin,
PM sent

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I ordered the parts you listed. I don't believe the engine studs are correct. After attempting to install the cover, I checked a few videos for 2015+ ecoboost mustangs. Whenever one was removed, the stud looked more like this one:

2022-12-17.png

There were two, one each in the front right and rear left, then two bolts, one each in the front left and the rear right.

Can you advise if this is the actual hardware needed?

Hi,

To confirm the stud I recommended is -W717107-S450B and looks like this
1671473736011.png

In the previous diagram this is noted as "HT1" and shows that it is used for the cover.

There is another stud shown on the front that is # AG9Z-00812-D and looks like this

Is that the one you are seeing in the vids?

No, sir. They look like the ones in this illustration.

I’ll let you know how these work out when I get them.

Hmm, I don't see any others then the 2 pics I posted above. Here is the diagram I am working off of

Based on the connecting line you see with HT1 to the cover Nut is why I recommended this part number.

Here is what I'm seeing and what I believe is needed. The part I posted above is only a double-threaded stud, without all the plastic bushing or whatever around it. When the guy in this video removes the stud, it looks exactly like what I posted. It's the same type of stud used on the Ranger engine cover, if that helps.

I am not having any luck locating that stud. Its not shown in the intake manifold section either. You mentioned its similar to the Ranger cover stud, That part # is https://parts.levittownfordparts.com/oem-parts/ford-engine-cover-stud-w714647s450b
The nut used on the Mustang is an M6 and so is the stud so I do believe it will work.

What's really weird is that the picture changes for the same part number, depending on what vehicle you have set as "your vehicle" when searching. So, I ordered the part shown for the 2021 Mustang, but wonder if I'll get the other part. This seems like a problem with the parts system.

That is odd, I updated the image for the part https://parts.levittownfordparts.com/oem-parts/ford-engine-valve-cover-grommet-ag9z00812d

Based on our discussion this is not the correct one you need

I have sent a note over to shipping to stop this but it may be too late. Based on your photos I think the Ranger stud would be the best option https://parts.levittownfordparts.com/oem-parts/ford-engine-cover-stud-w714647s450b

I appreciate the help. If it doesn't get caught in time, we'll figure something out. I'm in an apartment building where everything gets delivered to an Amazon Hub though, so I can't decline the package when they try to deliver it.

I'll order the ranger studs after the holiday and give them a try. Thanks!

It was too late for our shippers to pull this package yesterday as it was picked up by UPS after they had gone home for the day.
