That’s really nice! They’re also raising in value over the last 5 years.

Took my dog out for a walk last week and found a new neighbor has a 1987 Buick Grand National with 7,800 miles in the garage. 100% original. I think they’re worth stupid money now.

The GNX is worth a heck of a lot more than the standard GN.

I recall the GN vs Mustang wars - for those that did not live that era, just look up old vids on YouTube…. It was a great time to see those drag wars hashed out.

The GN and GNX was an unsuspecting beast of the time….

Definitely a collectible now.

I’ve always wanted that body style mustang. It’s on my someday list.

I bought my '71 Mach 1 20 years ago, been sitting in my garage since. my fav body style. Was going to start the rebuild this year, but opted to get a '21 Mach 1 instead, when I do start on the 71, I'll paint it the same race red as the '21. and gonna swap out the '21s interior for the red.

What's the condition of it and any pics?

ive been watching the prices rise on these over the last 5 years. They're becoming more popular not just because they are a Mustang, but the prior model years are starting to become untouchable to the average hobbyist who wants a restored Mustang, with good V8 drivetrain - but not the now $60k average price tag for restored correctly or the $20k price tag for a rusted out shell.

The 71-73's with the high HP drivetrains are still able to be sourced both as a hobby project car and restored for fair, affordable money.

Ive thought about procuring a 71-73 a few times, more specific the Mach 1, but to me, the styling of the front end is just that it's a very long front end.... LOL.

Basketcase condition, but all there, just in pieces.

unfortunately, many of the parts may have to get trashed now, we had a flood a few years ago and many of the parts that I had spread out ended up under water for about 36 hours. the shed she is in got 6-8 inches of water.

And saw this........

Unfortunately no one was outside. I'm going to drive by later and see if the owner is around.

Yes curious to see what details you might be able to get on that silver Mach 1!

hang on to it - they're definitely sought after these days and coming years in the future.

It's a good project base from the image - nothing too terrible, as I've seen far worse over the years.

If you can afford it - get collector car insurance on it and some polices even cover stored parts. You can at least get an agreed value set on it just in case something like a flood or anything else major ever happens again and you're not at a total loss...

The Co. I've had my 94 Cobra insured under for many years now is American Collectors an excellent Co., great annual rates and many benefits. They do insure project cars at an agreed value that you decide. Also the policy appreciates 2% each Quarter for an annual appreciation of 8%. Check them out when you have time. Just get a free quote, it's worth it on a vehicle like that - many don't even think of insuring a project car.
