The doors wont lock if the keys are not in the car and its running i dont think, and i know for a fact it will drive without the key if its already running, but once its shut off it cant be restarted.

The steering column should've locked as well, regardless of locking the exterior doors. When you shut the car off with the Start/Stop button after a short time the steering column lock will engage. No need for a club.

Interesting. I was sure mine does not lock and just confirmed. My 2016 PP was turned off in the garage with the start/stop button two days ago and I can turn the steering wheel freely with the fob well out of range.

Maybe Ford dropped the lock to save money in 2016. Your sig says yellow 2015 PP so can't be an auto/manual trans thing because there were no yellow automatic PP cars in 2015.

Odd - it's referenced in the 2016 owners manual on page 96

I believe you need the “enhanced security package” equipped.

That page doesn't actually say all Mustangs have it, just that ones that do can display faults. In my 2016 manual, the steering wheel lock is described as "(if equipped)" My 2016 PP ordered with every option but security and Recaros is NOT equipped with a steering wheel lock. Maybe the security package adds it, and I am pretty sure all auto trans cars have it. I have no idea why your 2015 manual trans car has it.

The car should of also honked twice if the door was shut without the FOB in it. But I'm not sure if you would of heard it.

The car was not running. The op left it parked with the manual transmission in gear and the parking brake set. I do know on my 18 if you turn the car off and the key fob is not in the car, a warning on the dash comes up that says restart now without key.

You get at least one restart without the key if you push the button quickly. Again, this is only if you turn the car off without the key fob in the car.

I don’t think the fob can start the car unless it’s within 2-3 feet of it. Mine starts flipping out saying “no key” if I leave it running and step outside the cabin just to grab something from the trunk. Did the OP leave his car running and unattended? That’s the only thing that makes sense here.
Na. I've had my body inside the car working on it, try and start it, but it won't start because my pocket is just outside the door. Like, around the door jamb.

So, rather, not so much “na” then “ya”. ;)

Really? It's an option on a new Mustang but my 1991 Taurus and 2000 Escort both had it?

car was in neutral with e-brake up? Maybe you forgot to park it in gear?
I've noticed my Mustang roll down the driveway when I first bought it. I later found out that I didn't pull the e-brake all the way up.
I'm so glad you were able to retrieve your car without any issue.

Correct, the locking steering column is part of the 'enhanced security package'.
I have my key in a 'faraday' bag. If I touch the door handle to unlock the door it will not unlock if my key is in the bag in my pocket. It blocks the signal. This is so someone cannot boost the range over 3 feet and unlock the door if your fob is in the house unprotected. Should not start, though, as the fob has to be in the car.

Huh. Never realized that that the column lock was part of the enhanced package. From the brochure:

Enhanced Security Package includes electronic
locking center console, Active Anti-Theft System,
electronic steering column lock and wheel locks

From where you had parked your Mustang...Is it a straight line to where you found it??
If the car was in neutral and the parking brake off.... could it of rolled to where you found it?
