So I was backing out of my garage today and as I let out the clutch and gave it some gas to start rolling the car hesitated. I stopped to make sure the parking brake was all the way down and it was. I tried it again and it hesitated again and the finally started reversing. Got to the end of my street and as I started to slow down it heard a thunk in the rear on the right side and then it felt a little loose. I was only going 25 mph. I turned around and went home and as I was driving it felt weird. It felt like it a wobble. And if I slowed down I heard the thunk again and it feels loose like it’s moving side to side. I looked underneath it and I don’t see anything and everything felt like it should. I have no idea what it could be. Any one have any ideas?

Check your axle nuts. That's the first thing that comes to mind. They have a habit of loosening and I have paint marks on mine so it can check them when I swap wheels.

Did you lift it and check the wheel bearings/axels?

No I didn’t have the chance. Had to pick my daughter up from school so I did a quick check and then just took my truck. I was thinking wheel bearing maybe. I’m gonna check it out tomorrow or Sunday and then call the dealer and take it over.

Did you wash the car or get the rotors wet before parking the car?
It did rain the last time I drove it. So it would have been wet. It has been a few days since I drove it last

So long story short, if you park the car for an extended period with wet brakes, the pads can ā€œrustā€ to the rotor, and cause the symptoms you describe. You may see an imprint of the brake pad on the rotor face after they are ā€œbroken freeā€. Any after effects should subside over time, but the longer it was parked, the longer it may take as the corrosion penetrates deeper over time. This is common with cars parked for longer periods of time, especially outdoors (dealers have this problem a lot).

Thanks, I guess I didn’t think about that. I didn’t think it had sat that long, but I’ll take it out and drive it some more and see how it feels.

Brake pads "rusting" to the rotor create a very unsettling sensation to break them loose and clear off any residue, typically after the first apply cycle. I don't use the parking brake after washing the car unless I drive it afterword to dry off the brakes. Some semi-metallic pad compositions are worse than others.
