Hey guys, so I've been having a weird smell coming from the engine it only happens when I hit 80mph or high rpm. I have already took it to the dealer and they had the trans tech look at it and also had another tech break it down for internal leaks and it all came up empty everything was good. Finally drove it my self with a tech and found out it was the battery. Since then the smell has still been there and has a stronger smell to it. If anyone has had the same problem or has any advice it would be very greatful. By the way I have a 2016 mustang gt

Did the Tech suggest anything? A cooking battery is typically the result of over charging.
What is the battery voltage when the smell is noted?
I guess a shorted cell would cause this.. if battery voltage is roughly 14 volts while engine running, it would be considered normal charge rate. If the charge voltage is normal, replace the battery.

It's possible that the battery was defective and has maybe one cell shorted out so it's been overcharged all the time.
The smell is like rotten eggs.

Is it a electric burning smell? I just drove 500 miles and smelt that for the first time. Has me a little worried as well
