I find this car gets more attention and compliments from non mustang drivers especially Camaro and Challenger drivers. I don't really care though.
^^^^This! At the end of the day who really cares if random drivers of a similar car wave or not. Through my experiences out here in Cali the motorcycle riders acknowledge one another like its some sort of ritual! Think it's pretty cool that the '15's competition acknowledge the S550, sorta like knights in shining armor or warriors on a battlefield giving respect to a future foe.

While wearing a smile I briefly paced a late model black Camaro the other day down the coastline. We had stopped at a couple lights together where the speed limit got as low as 25. Guy's window was open. He was looking everywhere but at me. I found this truly hilarious. :D

Would be nice if you friendly folk were around till all this dies down.

But whatevs. I will reserve my grins for the new Shelby drivers, then. :p

Most drivers don't see you because they are texting.......
Excellent yet unfortunate point, Papaya.
At least save it till you are stopped at a red light.
No stop light? Then pull the hell off the road!

We were behind a VW bug recently struggling to stay in one lane. Zoomed around her to give her "her space". Glanced in the rearview mirror at her...yep, appeared to be a colorful phone at the wheel. :tsk:

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but it beats starting a new one about the same topic.

After several months of ownership, I've noticed a couple of things about waving. First, if I see a modded Mustang (not counting window tint) I'll wave, and they will almost always wave back, or if we're side by side on the freeway will look over and do the nod. This includes any year Mustang.

Unmodded Mustang drivers typically don't wave, so I've stopped waiving to them. My theory is this mostly filters out the people who just like Mustangs from the car enthusiasts to put money, time and elbow grease into their cars.

I'm sure there are plenty of unmodded Mustang enthusiasts, but if they have aftermarket wheels, or a nice throaty exhaust system, they probably like your car too and will wave back.

I used to drive Fieros and any Fiero I ever saw either waved or flashed their lights at me. With the Mustang I have to be more selective who gets "the wave." :D

Please, I do not want to end up like the guys on bikes, waving at every other bike that passes them. I think it is lame, but what is worse is the "bags" who swerve 4' into the next lane to make room for a bike who is lane splitting....just to get the $#@$ stupid biker guy wave. #$!# I hate that, swerve and scare the crap out of someone in the lane you are swerving into, just to get the little wave....lame!

That's an interesting feat, considering that you'd have to wait 3-4 seconds for the headlights to pop up, unless you were one of the dudes whose headlights were always up because you fried a headlight motor and had to use the "knob of shame" to put your lights up :D (and yes, I had a Fiero once too...a beautiful '88!).

Okay, back to our regularly scheduled thread...

Gotten lots of thumbs up and waves from other Mustang drivers...we're a rare breed in "if it isn't a Honda or Toyota it sucks" land ;)

Last weekend, was going out to my brother-in-law's farm for Easter dinner with my wife and son. We get passed up on the right by some dude in a 2014 S197 Mustang GT (also deep impact blue). He waves at us...must have just gotten the car, he had a temporary tag on it ;)

I gave another dude in an S197 'vert (black) a thumbs up, and that led to a long stoplight conversation before the light turned green.

When I had my ruby red car, I saw someone with the same car (Ecoboost PP, Ruby Red) driving the other way, and waved. He waved back :D

The people who don't wave, that I've noticed, are:
1) older Mustang owners (as in the owner's age, not the car's age), the people you usually see coming out of the tennis club, golf course, or country club. Couldn't care less what you're driving
2) 20 somethings who have the windows tinted, music up, and think they're too cool for anyone in their 'stang...:(

Don't forget the Subaru's. Used to acknowledge Raptors when I had mine. Ain't seen another S550 since I got mine in December. There was a '16 magnetic there when I bought mine - where'd it go?

I got flashed the other day by a white S550 GT and I got so excited. I always notice other Mustangs of all generations and I'm surprised that so few acknowledge each other. I guess it's just an enthusiast thing. I think people aren't paying attention for the most part.

LOL no "knob of shame" here thanks to Rodney Dickman's headlight slugs. And yeah, they take longer than a normal light but the effect draws attention and a smile from the other driver.

I've only been waved at by other GT S550 owners. It seems like most V6 and EB owners are older in my drive to work and don't really care. Usually the GT owners have the PP and are more enthusiasts I would imagine.

Funny, the only time I ever had another driver honk & wave was when I had just bought my '03 Mazda 6. Same model, same color; gave a honk & a wave through the sunroof. The only explanation for the reaction was the relative rarity of the car at the time. That being said, there are thousands of Mustangs on the road. Let's face it, we're not driving MG TCs.
