That’s why we have consumer protection laws.

https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/businesspersons-guide-federal-warranty-law

The good news is that the majority of dealers follow the law and file the warranty claim. Unless you have a engine issue the odds of a claim refusal are slim.
None of what I wrote goes against consumer protection law. Example - spherical bearing (popular suspension mod) increases transient loads on control arms (very easy to prove in a simple calc but really shouldn't be needed as it is obvious). If control arm breaks, there is your proof. Anything aftermarket other than cosmetic items is extremely easy to show it changed "design conditions" for OEM config. To be fair Ford, isn't there and (based on the PDF for dealers) has quite reasonable approach to this.

I don't know why people think that - there is no court they have to prove anything in (unless you sue them) - they will say that it broke because of an aftermarket part, may come with a reasonable argument why (which is extremely easy to form) and good luck proving otherwise (especially that 99.9% owners do not have engineering knowledge to do so).
You don’t know why people think that. Because it’s the law

the law says that they have to be able to prove that the modification caused the failure. I have had a dealership refuse a engine under warranty because I had no cat. They said that not having cats put extra stress on the engine and caused it to fail. I said ok let me speak with my lawyer and see what he thinks because we both know that it B.S the next day my engine was approved
