VIN Build sequence?

Hey guys,

Just curious, does the VIN number have anything to do with the order the cars are built in? I know there is a priority that sets how quickly it gets built.
The reason I ask is it seems like my VIN, which was issued on 11/12 is much higher in sequence than others I've seen on here.

I think that the last 6 in the vin is a sequence of production scheduling, not actual production dates. I could be wrong though.

The VIN and the sequence number of the build are separate. This is different for the 50th anniversary limited edition GTs for 2015.

It's not even quite in that order. In a given scheduling week orders are pulled in a series of "rounds" based on allocations and parts availability. Once all buildable orders are pulled for that week the VINs are assigned. Ford appears to have a set dealership order by region when assigning them. For a given week you will see all orders for a specific dealer assigned adjacent sequence numbers. Other dealers in a region will also have sequence numbers in the same range.

Sounds about right as I have noticed a few groups of sequenced VIN's at my dealer.
