Vent to atmosphere

Yesterday I decided to pull the recirculation hose on my otherwise stock car. To cap off the port on the intake, I bought one of those rubber caps that are designed to go on chair legs (Like these things).

I love the new sound, but I'm slightly worried that the engine bay may be too hot for the cap. Is there any worry of the cap melting?
