I've just brought some Velgen wheels and i'm trying to decide what's the best tyre to put on and what size, if any Velgen owners could help it'll be of great help. Thanks.

If you fit 255/40/20 to the front your wheel/tyre will be 25mm bigger in diameter than stock.
If you fit 285/40/20 to the rear it'll be over 30mm greater than stock. Over 40mm for the 295.
Will cut down the arch gap but raise the ride height slightly and mess with your speedo.
Go to willtheyfit.com and stick some numbers in.

You need to look at pics of cars with your exact wheels.

It's all well and good getting the sizes right but different tyre manufacturers will have a different shape sidewall so will look different.

Some have a squarer shoulder than others whilst others are more rounded.

Not a HUGE difference, granted, but still something to consider.

yea 40 is a ratio not a size if you go up a wheel size by one inch you usually have to drop to 35 if you went to 22 inch wheels youd prob have to drop to at least 30 to keep diameter the same

The aspect ratio in % (the height of the sidewall divided by the tyre's width) that's what the middle number is
