Thank you all for giving your honest reviews about this turbo, and after much reading I def think this setup is more for someone who has an auto car, and wants more top end speed. I am a stop light to stop light driver and have a 6mt and like all my power down low. Sorry if anything sounded like bashing, I promise out of context it wasn't, was just trying to learn by asking and probing, wasn't trying to high jack thread or be an ass. Good luck to all, who go this route, and maybe we will see each other on the road one day and have a proper shoot out!!!! :)

Stock turbo can't flow enough air for 400 WHP, at above 375 it is so far out of it's efficiency band it's just pumping out lots of heat. Since ethanol requires a richer afr and has excellent cooling and anti det properties you might get close to 400 with aux fuel but I doubt you will reach it. I'd bet the VS2 would be damn near 600 on E85, a ported head, aux fuel, and built block.
400whp is easily achieved on e85, but you are indeed stressing out the turbo. The VS2 will not support 600whp on E85, regardless of the engine setup. It took 31psi to get to 460whp, you aren't making 40psi on a stock framed turbo with small shaft and journal bearings, it will grenade.

Sorry, I'm 6MT
Too bad we can't tune for holding revs during shifts. Yes I do agree that you have to be more aware of shifting to extract the full potential of the turbo.
You can flat foot shift, but regardless if you have RPM between gears you need LOAD in order to keep boost up, that is why AT's shine and MT's don't. There is no load on the engine when the clutch is depressed, the only thing you can do is shift high and shift fast.

Will you be tuning a customers car to 30-32psi on E85? If so, I am assuming I will need to purchase a 4Bar TMAP sensor?

I'm assuming, and I could be wrong but I thought he was saying even at 31psi to make 460, you can hurt the turbo or the car, maybe shoot for a lower safer number if you go that route. I am sure he will clarify, he's always good at that.

From what I'm reading, based on the turbo not really picking up until 4000rpm an auto car would need a converter or the transbrake tune to really be able to drag race with this turbo.

What's the size of the compressor wheel on this? The way you guys are talking would make me think this thing is 60mm plus. Sounds like a lot of people talking about this turbo are new to turbo 4 cyls and expect it to instantly respond like a V8.

You want big numbers on a 4cyl turbo engine, you deal with lag.

It is less about the size of the turbo and more about the restrictions it has to overcome. Poor flowing turbine housing, small compressor cover, poor flowing intake manifold, and extremely terrible flowing cylinder head.

It is about equal to a GTX2971R, but limited by it's package.

With each tune revision I notice the car feeling more responsive down low. I did several digs last night and it feels like it is coming out of the hole pretty good. I definitely want the transbrake tune though as it would come out much harder.

Cool deal. If you ever run it at the track please share the time slips. I'll be curious to see the 60ft these things are capable of with proper suspension work and what not.

I don't plan on running it until I get and install an auxiliary fuel setup. I will definitely post up videos and time slips though!

10 four, could not have said it any better. Turbine wheel is about 6 mm larger than stock , I think Tony sized that nicely for the power level this turbo should make, Compressor wheel inducer is 54 mm. People want a 500 hp turbo with no lag like the stock Turbo, even the Borg Warner EFR series wont do that. This is a 2k bolt on turbo, I think Tony did a pretty good job. When I run mid 11s with it, it probably still wont be good enough for the pessimists.

As stated above, I think this turbo is looking to be a better option for auto guys that want a larger turbo (with better top end performance) in the stock location. For the price, the performance doesn't appear to be bad by any stretch, plus, you can use your existing hardware. That's the beauty of having multiple good options, like this one, on the market. If it doesn't work for you, then something else will.

I'm eager to see how it'll perform on an auto car with stall and/or trans brake. With a little bit of suspension work, it might surprise a few people.

What are the specs of the stock turbo and the vs2 turbo (Comp Ind/exd, AR and Turbine Ind/Exd, AR)? that will let me start looking at similar compressor maps. Since all I really do are really high speed Autobahn pulls, the VS2 looks like the perfect solution on a budget.

The Stock turbo has no compressor map that I can find, or anyone of my friends can find. One of the drawbacks to a non large company is that there wont be any compressor maps available for the compressor wheels such as in this turbo, and the compressor housing would change it anyways as its stuffed in such a small housing. The comp wheel dimensions on this turbo are similar size to the BW 7163, but Im sure it wont flow nearly the same as its not a BW wheel, and its stuffed into a tiny comp housing as its a stock appearing turbo. But, one can say that it does make good power from the mph ive run so far, so it is flowing quite a bit of air. Ive gone from 115 - 116 avg mph, to 119 - 120 avg mph. For a budget bolt on non drag race turbo, I think its the cats meow. To get it to work in a drag race application and to really put some good #s down, its gonna need a looser convertor, which, I have on order and will go in right away.
