When Nebraska went from 6>7 letters/digits allowed on prestige plates, they held a lottery type drawing for duplicate requests (example: Yankees, Mustang) they took requests for 30 days then held the drawing.

How do I know the NJ plates are taken or not?

Go to NJMVC.gov, click Vehicles at the top, click License Plates on the left, click Personalied Plates on the left.

You'll have to apply for a PIN and wait for them to send it in the snail mail, but once you get it, you can go back to the site anduse their tool to see if a plate is taken or not. I can tell you now, I have EST1964 on order ;)

It would be a great plate on an LE. By the way, I lived in Louisiana for three years - Lafayette. Moved to SC last year. Love living on the coast, but I miss Cajun cooking!
