Just curious but I was looking at my buddies 5.0 and my 3.7 and look to be the same exhaust layout ....... Any chance (for example) I bought borla exhaust axle backs for the v8 would it fit or work on the 3.7 ?

You could definitely make it work. Hangers should be in the same location on both. The biggest issue you will have is that the GT's exhaust is 2.5" where as the V6 is 2.25". You will need to adapt the 2.5" to the 2.25" down pipe/ resonator pipe.

Don't know why you would want to do this... Stock GT mufflers sound like crap.

He isn't talking about stock mufflers. He wants to adapt one of the aftermarket kits already available for the GT.

what if we are talking about the mufflers only? Will using a 2.5" to 2.25" adapter make the exhaust tips stick out longer?

Personally I would just buy a complete OEM GT catback and have an exhaust shop convert the tubing in front of the resonator from 2.5" to 2.25".
