Music Man basses were always great; how could they not be when you have Leo Fender as the original designer? And after that, in the early ‘80’s, Leo hooked back up with long time friend from early “Fender” days, George Fullerton, and formed “G & L Guitars. The first bass George & Leo designed, the L-2000, has many similarities to the Music Man, and I’d argue that it was Leo’s best work. I have a 1983 that I rescued from a pawn shop in terrible condition that I reworked and gigged with for many years; an absolutely amazing axe.Like Porsche, BMW also has a design house for non-automotive products. Their most successful product? The Music Man Bongo bass guitar. I used to own one. Look weird as hell (think “toilet seat”) but play and sound awesome.
The blue bass is a Music Man Bongo. The others are more traditional looking Music Man basses that I own.
She was also designing a torpedo targeting system for use in WWII; if my memory serves me right, the DOD "appropriated" the design from her
