Answer: No, it does not make a sound, the falling just creates vibrations. Without an ear or other type of mechanism to convert the vibrations to sound, they are just vibrations.

I was going to ask for a recording of that until I remembered that would be too easy to fake. Years ago, an employee where I worked protested being fired based on lack of direction from his boss. His proof? A recording of him asking questions followed by complete silence.

After 49 yrs w/wifey, I finally let go;

...now, when we need to replace something like:
a microwave, washer, A/C, furniture, furnace or whatever else;
I tell her : "you pick what you want since you pay for it".
No complaints now...............
