Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this.

Local dealer has a 2014 GT Premuim (no track, has the base wheels. Manual.) w. 25k miles listed at $23k. One owner, clean carfax. This is a way more aggressive price than most competing offers in the area, but is it really that great of a deal or are other dealers inflated? Seems like most 2014 GT's premiums are listed in the mid to high 20's which seems crazy considering you can get a 2016 GT (albeit base) for under $30.

After a tough year I'm itching to treat myself a little, but I don't want to be an impulse I regret (i.e paying too much).

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Nope...If you are going to buy a used car, I would look for a base GT manual probably for a few thousand more. Some people have bought brand new one's for about 30-32K.

The new generation mustang is far superior in every way. I would prefer to buy a new ecoboost or V6 for the same price than a 2014GT.

Yes but the 2014 has alot more bells and whistles than a 2016 base with no options. Plus your still looking at 32k or so out the door.

Last year around this time i was looking at many 2014 left overs since the 2015 gt came out completely redesigned with all new irs , line lock ,launch control etc. Figured dealers would be desperate to get them off the lot to make room for the 2015s, well they barely would come down below 30k for a left over year old 2014 but new base GT when a new 2015 base was starting at 33k. I laughed and bought a 2015 GT with performance package and recaros only 36k and I DID not look back. The 2015 is much nicer then the 2014 , save your money get a 2015 or 2016 dont waste your time. Those 2014s are STILL sitting in those lots too by the way, arent going anywhere until the price comes way down, due to the huge difference between 2014 and 2015 2016s
