I hope my post doesn't get lost in the argument (which I'm not trying to get involved in!)
I was initially disappointed with the look of the EU mirrors in comparison to the US spec when I ordered my car. Between ordering and taking delivery I hired a US car whilst on holiday in Florida, and was a little unnerved by how small the wing mirrors were, I didn't feel that I could see as much as I'd like.
So I'm happy with my EU mirrors (well, I would be if I could position the nearside mirror properly!) and would suggest that anyone who wants to take the plunge and swap them sits in a US car before ordering anything.
