So I visited a local audio installation shop and they're recommending that I replace my current system with Rockford Fosgate equipment. I plan to keep the OEM head unit. I need help figuring out what speakers to replace in the doors and in the back. Please review/criticize the list of items I plan to purchase.

Subs: (2) P3D4-10 in a zenclosure box
Sub AMP: they recommended R500.1 but I want a P1000XBD
Multi-Channel AMP: they said R400.4D but I want P600X4
AudioControl LC7i

1. What components do you recommend for the doors and the rears?
2. Should my zenclosure box be front or rear firing?
3. Do you think that the amps that they're recommending will be enough power to run my speaker/subs?
4. Do I need a crossover or is the AudioControl LC7i sufficient?

Thanks for your help.

I'd definitely not use the r500 on those subs and I'd upgrade to the p1000. You didn't list speakers but the p600 is an upgrade in not only power but the signal will be better. Audio control L7 is a very nice piece of equipment. It doesn't do crossover stuff but the component speakers you buy should have them. I'd say start simple. But in the future if you want more out of it and eq/processor would be a good jump in sound quality.

Thanks for the advice. Maybe a DQ-61 instead of the LC7i?

That would definitely add some eq bands, time alignment and a bass control knob is included (it's how you setup the T/A). Quality piece.

T/A? Sorry, been reading a lot but don't know that acronym.

I've got a RF setup in my base GT. Sound pretty good. I've only got 1 12" P3 and the prime 750x1 amp. I'm running their punch speakers on 400.4

One amp I would look into though is the audio control. It's 200x4 and has a built in LC6i. The shop that did my Ram recommended it. I have it running with the same amp as my mustang. It gives you lots of controls and takes care of the bass roll off and whatnot. Very happy with it. Typically cheaper than buying a 4 channel and LC7i

last night, I ended up buying the DQ-61on Amazon for $306. How do the 6.5" speakers sound in the door? I heard that you can't really hear them because they're located very low on the door. Are the tweeters too loud?
