No.

Besides, we wouldn't exist if other species hadn't unselfishly perished.
Hello; Some of the dinosaurs walked on hind legs. Had grasping arms and claws. Some think the were warm blooded. Yeah i can see it.

Homeowner receives warning after considering common yard material: 'Basically toxic waste' (msn.com)
Hello; Took an interest with this story. I have the last few years put some shredded tires around my house. Did not want wood mulch as it can draw insects like termites. Anyway, now see the cry such is toxic waste. I do not see the logic.
The old worn-out tires are going to exist somewhere regardless of whether I use them as mulch. (note- i realize this does not actually challenge the point old tires might be "toxic". Merely toxic or not they will be around.)

I hear from unverified sources the stuff is being removed from playgrounds.

I live near one of the two main highways in my county. Hundreds, if not thousands, of vehicles pass by each day. The question arises about how toxic those vehicle tires may be. Is this just another boogey man idea thought up? Kinda strikes me similar to how cow emissions are dangerous but a heard of wild grazers are fine.

Study: Bison herd removes more carbon than world's largest CO2 capture plant | Watch (msn.com)

Hello; I find the contention about carbon removal absurd. That the heavy animals compact the ground and so lock up the carbon. I need to find out if bison produce methane during digestion as cattle do. I figure they ought to as plant cellulose is hard to digest and grazers face that same problem. If bison do generate methane that ought to more than offset the ground pounding effect.

Cattle and the Carbon Cycle | Watch (msn.com)
Hello; I like the contention of this video but will have to do some thinking about it. Appears to suggest somehow Co2 in manure (digested plants) is trapped (sequestered) in the environment longer than, I guess, grass left to grow uneaten.
My initial thoughts include this, if true, is a relatively short-term thing. Farms around here put manure on the ground in the spring. Guess how I know. Pretty sure it is trucked in most likely from cattle barns.
My long time but unsupported thinking being the digestion waste product is by that digestion process a quick way to get nutrients back into the ground for our crops.

Let me repeat a question plus observation. What happens to the fields of grass? In some places food crops could be grown but nowhere all grazing land can be used for crops.
Do they just let the fields grow to hay? If the cattle are gone what is the hay needed for? Horses I guess, but not that many horses kept anymore.

If more grasslands are allowed to go wild eventually natural secession will turn the land into some stable ecosystem. In the meantime termites will have lots more foods to harvest and my suspicion is they will make more methane than the cattle, or at least as much.

I suspect a more basic reason might be to convert grazing fields into crops for people.

I saw a commercial for a closed captioning phone service. Includes a freestanding phone with a screen to display whatever the party on the other end says.

Free govt paid service of course. Suspect you just need to call the specified number and claim asylum you are hard of hearing.

What was most interesting/disturbing was it didn't use voice recognition software but rather an actual human listening in and typing what they heard.

On the minus side, good way for the govt to inflate job numbers.

On the plus side, an absolute dream job where you and your buddies compete to see how many family feuds, suicides, heart attacks, strokes, and domestic violence you can cause with your made-up captioning.

Not to mention all sorts of fraud and identity theft opportunities.

Hello; I have seen that ad. Did not know about the human caption writers. Thanks.

"Sacramento City Attorney's Office has warned Target that its Land Park location could face public nuisance fines if it keeps calling police to report thefts."
"The state legislature is considering a bill that would prohibit local officials from punishing stores for reporting thefts."
Hello; I keep having to lower the bar for crazy in that state. The last few years I have met a few who escaped from that place.

Hello; Something I have thought about from time to time the last few years. Do not see a simple way to do something about it.
A refrigerator(fridge) or freezer uses essentially the same sort of technology as a central air AC for a house or even a vehicle.
Same as a dehumidifier for that matter and a dehumidifier more closely matches a fridge in that both dump heat into the inside of the house. The central air of a house and AC of a vehicle dump the heat to the outside.
Fine during the winter as having extra heat from a necessary appliance does us a favor. I need to keep food cold so it will not spoil. I need the dehumidifier as I have aquariums in the house which add too much humidity to the air.

Here is my thought. To keep the extra heat from a fridge inside the house during winter as is the case already, but to somehow vent that extra heat to the outside of the house during summer. I have a small kitchen and could feel the heat coming from the fridge on those 90+ degree days recently.

A few facts about climate change:
1. Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant - it's plant food.
2. The globe is definitely warming, but it's not due to human activity - we're experiencing the natural end of the current interrglacial warming period, as the planet cycles into the next ice age.
3. Humans cannot control the glacial cycles, no matter how much of our money the world governments spend.
4. Reducing use of oil and it's products is a really good idea, even though doing so won't stop global warming.

:)

Hello; So far I have not been watching much of the Olympic Games. Lost interest years ago when pro athletes started competing. Before it is rebutted, I know some countries essentially had pro's on their teams long before it became common.
I have recorded some of the bicycle races, except BMX, to watch.

But my reason for posting is what is being reported about conditions at this years games. Just read about athletes leaving the village due to lack of AC. Ten women sharing two bathrooms. poor food according to the athletes. This stuff is said to stem from the organizers wanting to be some version of woke I think. Too much plant-based foods and not things such as milk and eggs. saw one part where even spectators got that sort of food. Never been to Paris but real good food is what I have heard about there for years.

They even had teams swimming in what amounts to a sewer. I get they tested the river and had acceptable levels of e-coli bacteria (bacteria associated with human waste) on some days and too much on other days. At least one team pulled their swimmers out of competition after one got sick.

Olympics star shows Paris 2024 medal deteriorating after a week: ‘Looks like it went to war and back’ (msn.com)

Hello; More Olympic problems. The zeal to recycle Eiffel tower metal appears to result in poor quality medals.

Wonder what moniker will be given to these games?
