Unlocking Car With Passenger

Has anyone else noticed that if you have a passenger who gets to their door before you to get to yours and you try and unlock via pulling the handle the car won't unlock until they let go?

It's not something that happen very often but it's a minor annoyance to tell whoever to let go of the handle so I can unlock it. It would seem that with the car being able to detect what side of the car the key is on that it could also ignore the other sensors.

Anyone else notice?

Same on all cars.
Use the keys on the remote to unlock all doors if you have passenger before they get to the handle.

I notice this. It's probably a safety feature so you don't have random people trying to get in your car at the same time as you.

And if it's a dude, let him stand there yanking on the door handle until you're settled in the car and hit the unlock button for him.

It's not that the passenger door doesn't unlock...
It's that if the passenger is holding the handle, the driver (with keys) touching the inside of the driver handle DOESN'T unlock the car. So you'd both be standing there yanking the handles.

Huh, not mine because this happens with my wife, and then she tells me how ungentlemanly I was to not let her in AND be sitting in the car before I unlock it for her.
