After 18,000 miles with a tune as my only power mod I reverted back to the stock tune. I thought I would share my seat-of-the-pants "reverse tuning review".
1st, the stock tune is no slouch, it is more than capable of moving the bulk of the mustang off the line and down the road in short order and with much fun. Overall the driving experience was well suited to the mustang, but felt a bit muted compared to the tuned engine. Gone was a lot of the torque, especially felt when shifting from gear to gear(manual). With the tune the torque is almost dirt-bike like by comparison. A couple 0-60 runs netted a best of 5.7, I had a 5.3 tuned. It did feel like it ran out of breath a tad sooner in the higher RPM's. Again "muted" is the word that comes to mind when compared to the tuned mustang, but not nearly as anemic as I thought it would feel after being tuned for so long.
