Thinking of adding a red stripe on the strut tower support brace. Has anyone had any luck with this? My concern is the heat from the engine keeping the glue on the tape from sticking.

I sprayed plasti dip on my strut tower brace because the original paint was peeling. Hasn’t come out so far.

Both of those look good. I'm going to try and get some stripes laid down and get my strut tower covers painted this weekend.Hopefully it all comes out well. And, looking at my pic compared to your guys', I need to detail the engine bay!

If you use a base coat paint, install pinstripe, then clear coat you will have no problems

The stripe is just going on the brace. I'm not planning on painting it. Do I need to apply some sort of protectant first, then stpie, then clear?

If you aren't in a hurry, put a short piece maybe on the underside just to see how it holds up to the heat.

Go to automotive paint store, purchase professional quality clear in an spray bomb.
Remove part, lightly scour with fine steel wool. Clean with dawn dish detergent, wipe with prep or alcohol, put on light rubber gloves. Install pin stripe as desired. Rub tape down very good, wipe with alcohol lightly.

Take a wire coat hanger and hang part from ceiling. Spray clear
First coat is a very light mist coat (tack coat)
Second coat is cover coat heavier than first but not too much
Third coat is wet coat, you want to lay paint on in rows of wet but not to much or it or will sag.

Put blue tape on hanging device so it will get same amount of clear as part, touch between coats to see if dry enough to apply next coat. 1st coat shouldn't stick to glove, 2nd coat almost dry as first. Patience...
