Holy sh*t! So this kinda underlines my point about the helpdesk...yesterday morning "we have no updates"...

In their defence, they probably did back then, now however, i'm sure they'll have an update haha! :lol:

Just got a response from my dealer with regards to my Mustang now being in southampton.

I'm not sure that is actually the case. I've tracked the Tarago and it left Southampton on the 11th and is due to dock at Baltimore on the 20th and was in the middle of the Atlantic two days ago. The Tarago would have been the vessel it was shipped from Baltimore on but not necessarily the vessel that will take it to Southampton. I believe the car is still in Zeebrugge as earlier on today the Vista status changed to ZEEBR CTO (a quick Google search led me to this page: http://www.icoterminals.com/nl/over-ico ) and then back to ZEEBR WWL when I have just checked. Both of these status's relate to different areas of Zeebrugge port so I'm guessing the updates have been triggered by the car as it goes through various areas within Zeebrugge as I'm guessing that the dock where it landed may not be the dock that is used to load it for shipment to Southampton.

I could of course be completely wrong!

I'll check the status again later today and tomorrow morning and let you know if there are any major changes.

I'm going to say he's wrong - because the Torago left Southampton on the 11th and my car arrived today, which is the 17th. So it obviously wasn't the bloody Torago! Since everyone's cars have been in Southampton when its status changes to "Delivered From", then I think its safe to say mine is in Southampton.

Terry, you're a nice guy, but at this point I think I know the whereabouts of my car more than you at this point. :lol:

I'll eat humble pie if I'm proven wrong, but I'm certain of it being practically on my doorstep.

We all know the whereabouts of our cars better than ford's systems. Mines cruising past Atlantic city expected in new York in 4 hours.

We religiously track our cars, - or at least I do like some sad stalker (car stalker don't worry!)

I'd ask Karen and Stacey for an update and say you've check and see its in Southampton. If they confirm use that to your dealer and that's a check mate really!

So 'Delivered From Zeebrugge' is a little ambiguous and if you're lucky enough to have your car shipped to So'ton via a WWL vessel, the location DOES update to Southampton. However, look at those cars that were on the Viking Odessa. They were able to track the vessel into and out of Southampton, the customers were notified that their cars would be on it one their 'Delivered From' status appeared on the day it docked. SO that tells us that our cars are there. What would really seal it would be if we knew which Vessel we'd been brought to So'ton on. Any ideas?

Ford vista takes the piss updating takes a few days to update most stuff. Dealers use vista for information. We use wwl or online ship trackers to check this.

If ford rely on vista they will always be behind us.

My 'delivered from' date was 6th March but Karen believes it arrived in Southampton on 13th so these dates do look a little unreliable once the car has arrived in Europe. Good news is that Soton turnaround looks quite quick at the moment.

You can rest assured that the appropriate logistics people at Ford know exactly where each vehicle is. I am a long-time sceptic of the outward-facing systems however as they seem to lag behind.
My belief is that if we ask the helpdesk for an update they look at the same system the dealer might and relay that info. I accept that they are infinitely more helpful if you push them to investigate however.

Don't assume that "delivered from" means the car is in Southampton....:cheers:
Mine was "delivered from" on 04/03........but didn't arrive at Southampton until 12/03...... So 8 days..... ;)

That's reassuring - as it's the same story I got (unless you're with the same dealer - Reading?!?!?).

Manders - whilst dealers can go and collect, this will obviously cost them and margins are slim on the cars as is (I'd reckon on £500 a unit). Can you see them spending 70% on that just to keep you happy? I can't.

Sorry, missed this before - yes, same dealer. Agree re. the collection though, can't see why they would waste money on it themselves.

Customer satisfaction. Helping the customer. Transaction. Getting a deal done. Happiness of a customer etc.

Financially I could see why they WOULDN'T.

But for customer service could see why they WOULD.

They haven't got to. It's a good will thing. A lot won't. I'm hoping mine sticks to his word and brings it up. Otherwise I'll just steal their flat bed and do it myself [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]
