hi
i am now looking at a 2015 Cayman S, i am currently driving a 2008 Cayman 3.4S love the way it drives and handles great.
i went for the mustang as i really did like the shape and was a big fan when i was a kid back in the 70's
i took one for a test drive last month and yes its a big car compared to the porsche but like the porsche it has that presence of 'dont mess with me' feeeling on the road hehe.
but i cannot comprehend the incompetence of FORD approach of a high icon like the Mustang being so much hyped for the Europe and the ROW to be let down so badly with empty handshakes.

Yeh i know what you mean, been a long haul, even more so for folk like yourself who ordered in the 1st 1/4 of 2015, why dont you just get in touch with andy, im sure you could get his details from here or pistonheads and drop him a mail, the only reason im not shouting the odds at this blip is because i seen how bad the snow was there and ive seen 3 inches in this country bring it to a stand still. When the swedes and other Scandinavians were ripping the p*ss out the uk, i know your cars had a few delays previously but i've heard some good stories of andy managing to get other cars like cancelled same spec orders found. Nothing to lose.

They're obviously keen to sell cancelled orders to new customers, I doubt they'd be interested in doing this for someone with a car already built though - it would just leave them with another cancelled order to deal with, and in addition they'd be selling the "new" car at a lower price than they otherwise could to someone who hasn't ordered before the various 2015/6 price rises (ÂŁ1500 in my case I think).

I've certainly never had any communication suggesting I could get an existing car rather than having to wait for mine - Ford are there to make money, it's not in their interests to do that at this stage. But like you say, it's worth a go I guess, no harm in asking the question!

Don't mean to sound harsh or critical but would you maybe prefer the Porsche, as it does sound a bit that way? If not, you should be in the home stretch now and it would be a shame to cancel if you have a Mustang-sized itch that needs scratching.

Like David, I think if it was even possible to get Ford to sell you a cancelled order I think you'd need to cancel your order and pay current list price on the new one (+ÂŁ1500 over Feb'15), and you may not even get your preferred spec.

I'd be grinning (insanely) and bearing it. The whole process has been trying in the extreme but I guess its the price we pay for wanting this car.

The guys about to cancel his order, i never said it was going to work, i agree but its a long shot, you dont ask.....you dont get. You may well be right, but if hes cancelling theres nothing to lose, My thinking was theres another customer gone whos going to pass his bad experience onto friends and family ect, where as it might take a short time so find another car that suits, and sell his easily when it gets here. Sometimes companies need to take a hit for good press.

You sir are a legend, and i'm soon to hate myself for asking you to get all these

Okay so i'm guessing my car will be any of these:

16/02 – 01/03 Kline Galveston Highway
22/02 – 08/03 WWL Tarago
24/02 – 07/03 Kline Eurasian Highway
01/03 – 15/03 Kline Columbia Highway
02/03 – 16/03 WWL Tysla

Purely because of information i've been given. Late March would be acceptable after the drama, early march would be a god send but literally impossible judging by other people experiences... Unless, Stacey and Karen stick to their word and work their magic!

Guessing more towards 'WWL TYSLA', then 2-3weeks from there to my drive... Which is last week of march, first week of april.

But i'm being hopeful aren't I, trying to stay positive a bit...

Being a total nause, i don't know why it takes weeks and weeks after build for cars to get on a ship, the whole 'ship' jounrey takes like 5 weeks tops. that's from baltimore to dealer. 2 weeks from BT -> ZB 2 weeks (Idk why) from ZB->UK and a week from SOTON -> DEALER PICKUP (Usuaully)

E mail today from Karen, cars held up on the way to the docks, due to the recent weather, but it's on the way :D

She's getting back to me when she knows the boat it's on :headbonk::thumbsup:

For your car to make it to you early March after an early February build it would have to come over on the Tardis, not Tarago... ;)

The waiting for a boat bit is the worst, no way of telling how long your car will sit at the docks. Even without blizzards it is a bit of a lottery. I got this response last week when asking if there was any criteria for the order of cars being allocated a vessel...

"Sadly it is how they arrive on the rail from the Plant to the docks. They are shunted into lines alongside the docks and when the vessel arrives driven on in that order, row by row. One vessel we used had over 3500 units of which only 122 were mustangs so you can see the problems we have of trying to schedule."

Well, no, I can't really see the problems. It has to be either "cars go on in the order they arrive" In which case everyone gets a fair slot, though it looks like I've been forgotten if this is their method OR it's a "First off, last on" policy, which is pretty shit.
