I had emails back today confirming my car is at the committed stage and was given the order number & dealer code. As I did not know what that meant, I emailed Stacey back & she said that this means that I could change spec if I wanted. Next stage is segmented & looking at late Jan/ Feb build. I did also ask her to confirm the spec they had for me to make sure it was correct- it was all correct fortunately but thought it was worth checking. Looks like my car is being built to the timescale given by my dealer when ordered ( perhaps a little earlier than expected). Good quick turn around on emails from Stacey today Well Done Ford! I will now resist the temptation to check again for an update until early February - you never know, my dealer may even contact me by then!
I had assumed that "committed" meant that the order couldn't be changed anymore, but obviously I was wrong. Mine is also at the committed stage as well but Stacey didn't have a VIN or build date for me yet, she did say to email back next week for an update.

See I must be a stage ahead as i'm "locked-in" which must be the section where you can't change the order. (Which i'm totally fine with).

I also don't have a VIN, and albeit don't particularly want one just yet. I have no build date but judging by above posts, it could be sometime mid nextweek! (Hope)

Locked-in sounds more like the stage where you can't change the spec. I thought that you're meant to get the VIN a few weeks before build?

Hi Steve,

I'd check the VIN you were given. You should get the window sticker almost immediately and VINs are only issued 2 weeks in advance of build.

Probably find the car is crossing the pond already :D

Would be nice but I've seen a screen shot of my order in Vista and also spoke to Karen yesterday. It's supposed to gate release next week but can't help think Karen was just quoting dates from Vista and that's been wrong several times already.

Anyhow, I have information so I'll give it til next week to be wrong before emailing again. It will be built one of these days...

Apparently not, as my email copied on the previous page suggested, I haven't got the VIN. However it is locked in.

I've been told my Karen & My dealer that VINs are assigned once the vehicle begins production, however this hasn't been the case for everyone on these forums as some people have picked them up way before the cars build date (Hence why i'd asked for mine).
I'm not too fussed regarding my VIN. I've been told locked-in, i've been told early Jan, i'll play the trust card for now:thumbsup:

Ian whu can you do what you did last time to try and find it if possible ?

Woop, I have, erm, neither, just promises, which could be empty promises... However Karen (bless her soul) is chasing for me, and has put my car on priority .

Are you going to be framing it, then printing out a small version for your walet and then printing out a version to put on your desk at work too?

You'll also get the real window sticker when your car arrives , assuming the dealer doesn't tear it off the window like they did with mine
